CAFIB Fila Issues

I would welcome some brief*pointers on the whole 'CAFIB' issue, regarding Filas?

Not looking to raise anyone's blood pressure as it seems to be a cause of some concern to many breeders / kennels.

As a prospective Fila owner however, I'm looking to better understand the issue and would truly appreciate some comments -- as unbiased as possible would be welcome, as although I'm learning I don't pretend to be as understanding of the breed intracacies as a breeder.

Hey Matt, the mere mention of CAFIB makes non CAFIB fila owners very heated. in a nut shell CAFIB is an organization whose focus is on the preservation of the purebred Fila, its type, structure, temperament, health, etc. no fancy gimmicks, inflated prices or multiple types to make one fit you...the CAFIB Fila is either a correct fit or not at all, no waivering to make more sales.

lol, this isnt a Fila forum, there may only be 3-4 people with filas on here....ask that question on fila 411 or other fila forums...CAFIB folks usually will write on open forums, non CAFIB will choose to PM you (usually).

non CAFIB will also voice their opinions on their web pages (breeder page) ... kinda like a chinese citizen receiving their news from the state runned media.

lol, true enough. Yea from their own pages they will respond freely but open forums...usually not...usually.
