Cane corso puppy vomiting

I have a 8 week old puppy that has been vomiting water after drinking. I have lowered the amount to 1/3 cup at a time in her bowl but it still seems to be too much. She is eating the same food she had at her breeders so noting in diet. She has not ingested anything harmful has been under my supervision the entire time. She acts totally normal. Sometimes it's right after drinking sometimes an hr later. This is the 3rd time i've written this so I'm hesitant to write a long story and have it not load again. Please ask any questions I will be happy to answer. Thanks

take her temperature , as long as it's normal and she is eating and acting normal , i wouldn't worry too much ........ if it were to continue pasty 3 months or if she were not able to hold down any water or food , i'd get her looked at by a vet .....

You only just got her right? Is it only water that comes back up? How often and how much are you feeding? Does she ever throw up food? Does she seem like she is gulping it down (the water)? Does she throw up every time after she drinks?

You can try adding ice cubes to the bowl to try and slow down how fast she is drinking (or get the bowls that have compartments) and continue only giving her small amounts at a time. I would also avoid drinking right after eating and no exercise for 30min after drinking.

Please keep checking her for dehydration. Pull up the skin on the back of her neck (like if scruffing an animal) and release. The skin should snap right back. Also her gums should be nice and bubble gum pink and not feel dry and tacky.

First of all thank you for taking the time to try and help us out. As you know this can be a stressful time for the pup. She went on a 16 hr drive to have her ears cropped then home for a night then on a plane to california where she was without water for almost 7 hrs. So i immediately attributed the gulping of water to her love of thirst which must have been off the charts. Not to mention the amount of stress the pup must have been under. That being said I did say to myself "damn she drinks a lot for a little girl. Then the throwing up started a few hrs later. She was actually asleep the first time. It's usually water with a chunk or two of halfway digested food. Depends on if she does it right after she drinks or later. She does both. Just depends. I have lowered her intake to 1/3 cup at a time. I just keep it filled at that level so there is always some available but never a large amount. she doesn't eat fast, but she seems to drink fast and for a long period if I don't stop her. Also she is not actively throwing up, so no heaving. It just kinda comes up. It scares her a little, then she goes about her business. Her poop was runny but I think that was just stress it is back to nice solid poop.

Sorry I missed one part. I am going to have her wait a while after eating to drink. I have been waiting a few minutes I'm gonna give her like 20-30, then water. Maybe that will help. And I have been waiting for exercise. I don't think that's the cause. Although she did puke one time after she jumped off some bricks down to the pavement. It was quite a jump! She's like the kid from south park that pukes whenever she gets excited.. HAHA Thanks again for the help. It is appreciated.

Does she just eat dry food?

Have you thought of adding a little water to the food itself, to help it get a little soft before she eats it? That might help stave of the thirst and give the stomach a head start, too.
Adding some probiotics might also be beneficial.

It does sound like she's had a stressful week... I'd work on just keeping her calm and relaxed, and getting out for some low-key explorations of her new world. Lost of calm praise and love (of course!!). Jumping off bricks sounds like fun to a puppy... as long as the landing isn't also concrete - that could be hard on developing joints. It's always something with these little monsters!! :)

If it doesn't calm down in a few days, it might be worth having her checked for megaesophagus, just to be sure it's not a more serious concern.

Don't suppose you have any puppy pictures you could share??
