canine incontinence??? perplexed!

I will try to make this post as quick as possible.
My 4 yr old, intact male Cane Corso was lying in his favorite place in the kitchen area, and I noticed that there was a puddle in the "right" area that looked like a small cup of water was spilled....perfectly clear, and when I wiped it up it was absolutely odorless. The clearness of it led me to believe he had just drooled because I had just worn him out and he usually drools a lot when I do that. I always have to wipe it up as he cools down. I figured that he might have changed positions and now the drool was in the area of his penis. When he got up it looked like the clear liquid was dripping from his penis but it could have just been on him from possibly laying in it a little. I immediately took him outside so that he would pee on a tree in the front hard and when he did, the urine was dark yellow as usual. He also went earlier, right before he layed down and that urine was yellow as well. I dont seem to think that the clear liquid was from his bladder.I dont think that it is possible that it was spilled water. About a week ago my wife said that she saw him dribble a little, but I didnt take much thought to it because I know it can happen, and I work my dog daily and he has always been good about holding it and urinating in the right places. Is it possible that there could be a discharge caused by incontinence? an infection? something? Anyone know what this could be, if not a complete fluke? Remember...the liquid was clear, thin as water, odorless, and his urine a hour earlier and right after was yellow and normal. ?????? Anybody got experience with this or heard of such? Thanks.

To add....we went out for a couple of hours and he has his run of the house. When we returned, I inspected the house and not a drop. He is energetic, and I just let him out and he drank some water and took a leak. I cant find anything on the net that is like what I described.

I would have his urine tested. I haven't heard of a leaking issue in intact animals but could be wrong, my female rottie when she was fixed got a hormone imbalance that required we give her some hormone as she would just be sleeping and get up and there was a puddle. She didn't know she was leaking it would just come out when she was relaxing, so the hormone helped to stop that and we just spaced the pills farther apart.

I think having the urine tested is a good idea. Not that this is a pleasant thing to do BUT..... have you inspected his penis? Does it look inflamed or infected? Our English Setter mix had an infection once. We had to take him to the vet. They "flushed" it with Saline and I think Hydrogen peroxide a few times and put him on some antibiotics. We were also given instructions on how to do the same. We had to do it once or twice more. I think they said that with long haired dogs they see that sort of thing from time to time. So I am not sure that this applies to you but it is worth taking a closer look maybe. It was years ago and I can't remember if he was leaking at all but we noticed that he was licking the area a lot and when we took a closer look, it looked infected. So to the vet we went...

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I actually did inspect him. Everything looks normal. Ive been watching him really close and there hasnt been another drop. Im hoping that maybe I overreacted on something that wasnt what it appeared to be. Everything seems normal now. If this persists, we will definitely get the urine tested. Thanks for the replies.

incontinence is usually seen in females, if his urine is concentrated he may have an infection, suggest a urinalysis

His urine is often prettyconcentrated, somtimes more than others. His urination habits are the same and cosistant. Today his urine looks good and quite a bit lighter, but he has remained fairly inactive and he has been drinking like normal. His urine is more concentrated first thing in the morning like normal and gets lighter as the day goes by. Things have still been normal since I started the post. Thanks again for the replies. He actually has a routine vet visit coming up and I will get them to take a sample.
