DDB Kennels in KY

Hello, my wife and I have decided that we are going to add a DDB to our family. There is a VERY reputable breeder close to us in Northern Kentucky. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other reputable kennels in OH, IN, or KY areas. I heard there was another reputable kennel in around Louisville. Does anyone know this kennel? I would like to look them up but I cannot remember their name for the life of me. Thanks.

I believe Mount Sinai kennel is in KY, but I don't know much about them and I don't think their website is current. My boy was sired by their male Ultimo, but I was told that he is now deceased and has been for at least a year.

I do believe their male Crusader won the breed class at Westminster and made it to the Group round this year.

Check out the DDBS' breeder listings site: http://www.ddbs.org/Breeder Listing/BreederListing.htm

I have a 4 month old DDB that I got from The Vinyard Bordeaux in Michigan. They are not the cheapest but have amazing looking dogs. If you would like to talke about it you can always email me. lowdenclear75@yahoo.com

DDRsR4Me, that was the kennel that I was speaking of that is close by. They are a top notch kennel, but quite expensive. MSK had WONDERFUL looking dogs and I can't speak highly enough about the care and quality of the dogs and kennel. If it were just me I would get a puppy from them no qualms but my wife is very hesitant over the price.
And Crusader is a beauty of a dog!

Minion, thanks for their info. I might take you up on that offer. And you are correct. Their dogs ARE BEAUTIFUL.

I think you're looking for Paragon Bordeauxs in Louisville Kentucky. The dogue de bordeaux national specialty show were just held there at the Kentucky expo in March. We attended the show and got to see Paragons dogs and kennels. Best of Luck to you in finding your next ddb. By the way Buddha out of rising star is currently the #1 ddb in the country
at nationals and Westminster this year. Crusader is not 1st this year.

I didn't notice you were also looking in Indiana...check out Cabinwood Bordeaux, that's where I got the boy in my avatar. They are a small "kennel", run by a veterinarian. All their dogues live in the house and their puppies are raised in the home as well. I don't know if they have any planned breedings at this time (their website isn't the most current), but I'm very happy with my boy. He's 5 and we still keep in fairly regular contact.

I checked Paragon's site briefly...they sure do seem to have a lot of dogues. The whole thing seems a bit much to me..I dunno maybe it's just me. Not saying that their dogues don't look nice, but that isn't the only thing that counts IMO. I'd like to see info. about health testing.

Thanks everyone. I am looking into your recommendations. I really have my heart set on a DDB.

I guess another question of mine would be, is it reasonable to budget between $1000 to $1500 for a DDB puppy from these breeders? My wife has put her foot down and told me what we can, and cannot spend. I'm not willing to sacrifice quality/health for a cheaper puppy, but on the same token my wife will not allow me to spend over $1500. Thanks.

I personally think that is reasonable, but it's been 5 years since I bought a pup so I don't know what current prices are.
