morrigan, my 6 1/2 month old english mastiff, has decreased her eating habits by like a cup a day. nothing in her routine has changed. can anyone think of a reason for this? also, is this normal when they are growing through growth spurts? i have observed her and she is going through a growth spurt..she is getting taller and her legs are getting really longer. she is looking a little more lean but i am not too worried about it. she is around 70lbs. she eats wet and dry food twice a day.

I wouldn't be worried...my dog's appetite is less than it was when he was a pup, probably because he's not growing anymore...

I agree, thank goodness my Corso doesn't eat as much as he did when he was growing pup! We cut back from 10 cups a day to 5 cups a day from when he was 10 months old until now at 2 years. It was a slow drop off and he was always a lean puppy and is still a lean dog. The best way to know for sure is to monitor her weight and conformation. Be sure you can't see too many ribs or her hip projections, then you'll know she isn't eating enough and should consider a food change or a trip to the vet.
