We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Does your dog sleep with you?

Up until about 2 months ago, Indy slept in the crate. I had what thought was about the biggest crate, and while he had plenty of room it seemed, you could tell at night he just was getting too big to be comfy stretched out. So since he was fine be left out during the day, we decided to ditch the night time crating. And, ever since, we have not had one decent night's sleep! The very first night he crawl up right between us and that is it! We even have a king bed and that is still not big enough for the 3 of us. He's 10 months old now and about 160+. He starts out fine, head on paws, body straight behind him but that is just a trick to get us asleep! After that, one gets his back(there must be body contact) and that is like sleeping with an electric blanket, the other one of us gets his feet, and that's like sleeping with a baby kangaroo(god only knows what he is dreaming about)! I won't even go into the lengths I go to to get in the bed first, just to make sure I get enough covers! I fully realize we should just shut him out- but I just don't have the heart to do it. I imagine we'll figure out something sooner or later, it just amazes me what ridiculous suckers we are for this dog! Our family and friends think we've completely lost it over the big goofball, and they're probably quite right! Was just wondering do many of you sleep with your dog/s?

LOL. Both of mine (Ruger, EM, 19 months, 200+ pounds and Magnum, GD, 18 weeks, 60+ pounds) sleep with me in a king sized bed. Both really have good bed manners and Ruger gets down for awhile in the night when he is hot but comes back up. I remember when he was younger the fun of making sure I got in first to claim space and some blankets. LMAO Both do really well at this point but I adding a man and a 21 month old Female EM that is about 150 pounds so I am going to add another king sized bed to the room to accomodate! LOL I, too, have lost it over my pups so you are not alone. :)

On the weekends sometimes I will let them sleep in the same room as me. With Stone it is harder because he constantly barks at any and everything and I can hear him pacing around at night. Mason "too good" for the floor so he likes to climb into bed with me despite my protest. He's good though usually nudges up to me and he's out. My fear is him peeing in the bed since he has peed in his sleep quite a few times.

RK, that is quite the picture! And, nearly 300 lbs of dog makes my puny puppy seem like nothing! 3 dogs is REALLY going to be interesting! Indy will also get down for a bit during the night and he has no concept of personal space as he plops completely on me while trying to decide where to jump down to without jumping on Atticus, who sleeps on a bed right beside me! Unfortunately, he's not down there for long before crawling back over me to claim his spot!

DD, that definitely gives me something to be thankful for, at least he has a steel bladder! And, I'm so thankful I'm not the only nut about my dog!

Ruger is amazingly good at jumping up and down from the bed without touching anyone at all. I don't know how he does it. So, the second king sized bed pushed against the first is going to be necessary since adding Kimber will make it 430 pounds of dog at the moment and Ruger is still filling out and Magnum has another 100 pounds or so to gain. LOL I, too, am thankful for the good bladders! LOL

LOL!!! Yeah, I didn't even think it was possible until I saw him do it. Its been a while since he's done it, but I'm still not willing to take a chance until I get my carpet cleaner back.

That's a great idea about pushing the 2 beds together. We brought down a twin mattress we had an put in next to the bed(on the floor), thinking he might like that but he just used it to step on the bed and looked at us like "which one of you is sleeping down there?"- I actually thought about getting down there the other night, but didn't want to go find blankets!

That is why I want the exact same bed that I already have to push together. I bought a great 400 dollar big barker dog bed which they LOVE but at night they want to sleep with me. If I put another king sized bed on the other side of the room, they would still be in mine with me so by getting a second and pushing them together we can all still be in the same "bed" with enough space. LOL

Yeah sully sleeps with us. At bedtime he'll whine and cry till we pick him up. He'll stay probably half the night then jump down and get in his bed.

You certainly aren't the only one who is nuts about your dog around here!!

Tony gets to sleep with me if the boyfriend isn't home. I also have a king size bed... but it isn't big enough for three. If the boyfriend is home, I leave the tv on until midnight or so to drown out his snoring. If Tony sleeps in the room, I leave the bedroom door open so he can come and go if he needs to. If the tv is on and the door is open, it keeps the rest of the family awake.

It is complicated stuff, lol.

Tony can now get off the bed on his own, but can't get back up. The other night he was allowed to sleep in the bedroom, he decided to go to the kitchen for a drink around 1 am, then laid out there for a bit and came back in around 2 and decided he wanted back on the bed with me. He put his front paws up and was grunting and I could hear his little feet scratching on the foot board trying to get up. Usually after a minute of this struggle he will just lay on his blanket on the floor... but this night he was adamant that he was getting up so after a few minutes I gave his butt a boost.

Does Indy have a bed or blanket on the floor in your room? Donno if that would help, but I know Tony would prefer to sleep on a blanket in my room than on a bed in a room alone. And if we are moving or talking too much in the bed, he will often get fed up with us and leave to sleep on the floor... weirdo lol.

Whoops, didn't see this post before I typed mine. So I guess blankets or bed wouldn't work.

Love this, Queen size bed & Max would spoon me & Midas laid across my legs/feet..... Tried to keep them off but they always snuck on during the night.... Woken up a few times with Max doing the running man on my back & flubbering in my ear or Midas licking my feet..... I have Lily now & she is another who has to sleep with me & gives me paw prints on my back at night..... Even if I fall asleep on couch, like I did the other night, woke in morning to Lily vibrating my legs with her snoring..... All I could do was giggle & tried to move her but she pinned me down with her paws & continued snoring.... I have gotten used to sleeping on the edge of the bed..... Gotta say sleeping with Mastiff's is a trip but I always feel safe & loved.......

My girl knows she can only sleep in the bed when dad is out of town. But sometimes if he gets up first on the weekends, I will wake up and have her in the bed with me. She can climb up there without even waking me, otherwise she is the clumsiest dog around, I guess she can be careful if she tries!

It's starting to be like an obstacle course if I get up to go to the bathroom at night! Between Atticus(my newfoundland) and his bed, the other dog bed for Indy(which is still pristine!), and now a twin bed(unused by all)-it's a wonder I don't break my neck!

Mine does not sleep with us. He is now uncrated at night and does well. It has been about 1 month and only 2 incident, involving books and magazines. He does not go upstairs at our house, even though he will go upstairs at my office and at other homes. We don't encourage him to because that is a place for the cats to go to get away from him.

raji - your story sounds very similar to ours.

We can and do ask Denna to 'get off' on occasion, and she does listen to us. She has a nice bed on the floor that she likes.

She normally will get told to get off after 'adjusting' to the point that we have the ass-end facing our pillows... not a good thing. :)

I now have an extra blanket on the bed, which I hang over the side, as added insurance that I will not be left without covers!
Our 'little' girl definitely has us wrapped around her paws.

Panzer sleeps in his crate at night in our bedroom, but my SO leaves for work at 5AM so Tyler puts Pan in the bed with me before he leaves and we cuddle. Panzer gets right under the covers and snuggles right up to me.

Unfortunately, I have a very high loft bed, with open stairs leading up to it (it's more than 6 feet off the ground) so, no....Mateo doesn't sleep with me. :(

He sleeps underneath, either on his bed, or on the floor.

I did go away with him last year, where we spent a week at a family cottage on a lake-- and he did sleep with me. It was fun, and kind of a special treat. During the night, I would hear him get off, then back on the bed, and crawl up to nuzzle my face. Very sweet. :)
