Not if I can help it. My lab is notorious for using the couch when we aren't home or when we aren't paying attention.

Barron prefers the floor but I have caught him once or twice on the couch usually to look out the window that the couch blocks.

Yep. Denna is allowed on MY furniture.

If she ever refuses to get off... she would not be allowed back on, though. They are still MY couches, and my bed!
She does not get in the recliner though... I don't think she'd fit... and she'd probably tip it over.

Past dogs have had recliner time, too, though...
Here's our Dane/Lab/X as a pup in the recliner, and then a few years later, getting some snuggle time.

We have towels and blankets all over for hair control.... and our couch is a "lovesak" with removable covers - haven't washed them yet, as they wipe clean with a wet rag, easily.
The blue recliner in the pictures has been retired, though...

Luke is not allowed on the couch, he has his own loveseat that has been "the dog couch" for years. He is not allowed on my bed but tries to sneak up in it early in the morning sometimes, like I don't notice, lol

My dogs are allowed on the couch, but they also know to move over when I want to sit down. One of my FAVORITE things is to sit in the middle with each dog's head in my lap. :)

Allowed but he seems not to like to be on it since he has gotten bigger. (most likely because he falls asleep, then generally roles off.)
Bed yes, tho he generally climbs in at 5am when my alarm goes off, I get out and he crawls in beside momma, till they both get up at noon.

Yeah ours are allowed. The older ones can be up without permission as they know to move when asked the younger ones can be up if we are there and are allowed up for sick daughter watch when the girls need cuddles during movie time when sick.

The difference is if you leg them on! Mine are allowed on if I tell them it's ok, they wouldn't dare get up without my permission they wouldn't even get up if we were out!

Mine are allowed on if calm otherwise they have to get off. Both are still very young (14 months and 16 months) so I just recently began letting them on. They were too hyper before and Maxwell was also challenging me for a period of time so until he completely understood that I am the one in charge, the couch was off limits.

I have to say sorry no, Zola is not allowed on any furniture. Plus with a cloth sofa her hair would stick like no other. She has a bed right in front of our fireplace that faces us, so she lays there, and she loves it. My husband will go cuddle with her on her bed though. My parents let their dog on and they wish they never started it. Zola tries to climb halfway onto their sofa if you play with her, guess grandma and grandpa's house isnt as strict :) but she still doesnt get up on their sofa.

The pics speak for it self. I have always let my dogs on the couch and on the bed. I feel it is a personal preference. As long as when I tell Sadie to get of the bed or couch and she listens, and does what I ask, she is always welcome. Now, getting her to wake up in the morning, that is a different story.

Every morning, my dog sneaks up to my shoulder and makes licking snuffling noises, she wants back into the big bed. Mastiffs need their mommies and daddies, they need early morning lovies.

My happiest days are snuggling with my girl on the couch and on the bed. My husband loves it when I get up and she nuzzles and cuddles him letting him know how much she loves him. On the odd occasion he sleeps downstairs, she gets her morning kisses from me and then runs downstairs to lovefest with her Daddy.

We definitely let our girl up on the couch AND the bed because we love her love, her fur, her need, our need and that she is our baby and we are you furless parents.

I Have This Love, my baby girl, for, at most, ten years... Furniture comes and goes...my girl, she is the heart of our home. She is excluded from nothing...she's family.

Amen! Though, even in Canada, sleeping under the covers is too warm. However, I admit, to throwing my housecoat over her...just in case she's chilly.

Totally with you on this one!

This morning Angus woke me up by bopping me in the head with his giant, wet nose. I said good morning to him and pet his head. He promptly threw himself down on top of me and we snuggled. His body was stretched out along mine and his head was resting on my shoulder and he was breathing heavily/snoring in my face. I live for those moments.
