Depends by what you mean by soon. The breeders I know of only do summer pups and those are usually spoken for in advance of the breeding. What part of the state are you in and how far are you willing to travel for a pup?I see a few people on the forums from the PNW. Anyone have any breeders they recommend or know that will have puppies available in the near future?
A word of advice to take or leave. You might want to physically check out any kennel/breeder from before committing. It does depend on what you are looking for in your dog - show quality lines or just for family companionship. One of the big things for me when we got Angus was seeing the conditions they kept the dogs in. I'm personally not a big fan of dogs being kept in kennels and only let out into concrete runs, no time with their families or on green grass. I understand breeders may not want to deal with the mud factor we have in our corner of the world. There are several in the state that are that way. They do have beautiful pups and pedigrees but for me it was the ethics behind it.It sounds like Stonehaven will be having a litter, but I have not heard back on any specifics yet. I was just trying to see if there are other options in case I don't hear back or it doesn't work out. Does anyone have any experience with Stonehaven?
Vancouver is an easy drive. Thanks! Our big goober came from Heritage Mastiff's in Vancouver, WA. A little bit of a drive for you but not too bad. I've got a call into her to see if she has new pups planned before summer. I'll let you know.
I plan on vetting the breeders. I just don't have a lot of options yet. I have not talked to our vet yet. A good friend is a vet and I have not even asked him yet. Lol. But I figured if anyone knew it would be you guys. We are just now starting the serious process so what better place to begin.A word of advice to take or leave. Well I just got confirmation that we will be bringing home a new girl in March from CeCe! I plan on just driving down and getting her. The kids are very excited to meet her.I spoke a few times with CeCe of Glacier Mastiffs. We were all set to get a puppy from her. It didn't work out only because we had a very specific color and gender that I wanted. One of her dog's is the sire to our puppy even though we bought from a different kennel. From talking to her and some research that I did I highly recommend her. If you wanted to have one shipped to you I found a service that will escort the puppy in the cabin of the plane instead of kenneled in a crate in cargo. It was only 375.00 and much safer for your new puppy. If you need info let me know. Good luck in your search.
