Eye Boogers/Watery Eyes.... More Serious Problem?

As a new member, I'm spending my lunch break going through tons of these posts and discussions learning so much!

One post questioned "eye boogers", and I notice in the the comments there seem to be no concerns with entropion/ectropion. At Duke's first vet visit, she checked his eyes very well, and expressed concern about the lower lids being rolled in a little far. His eyes do water though I wouldn't say it's excessive, he has daily eye boogers, but no redness and I've yet to see him rub at them. Is the watering normal for Mastiff pups? Are there any other tell-tale signs we should watch for other than the redness and rubbing?

Fact: I am learning that I'm a HUGE worry wart with this baby! It seems there are SO MANY things that just go wrong with this breed, I don't want to overlook anything and cause more damage to him because I was simply uneducated.

Any experience would be appreciated! And as prompted in my into post... here are some pictures of my little man :D IMG_20141213_091219.jpg20141210_210736.jpg

He is absolutely precious!!! Love that face. I don't know about eye watering, but our 6 month EM pup has always had daily eye boogers. I just wipe them and go on. That's not much help I realize, but I wanted to tell you how cute your pup is!

I love his little face!

P used to wake up with huge "eye boogies" every day, but she seems to be growing out of it. She never had watery eyes though,

Haha thank you guys! He really does have the sweetest face. It seems that the eye boogies aren't a huge deal, and the watering isn't like he has tears coming down his face, just a little wetness under them. I have a friend who owns and shows Bullmastiffs and she just has me so scared that any little sign and something is for SURE wrong with him! I appreciate the comfort and reassurance, even if it's just saying that your dog has eye boogers, too :p

Sasha my Cane Corso had an eye infection when we adopted her, but it was more of a green discharge than eye boogies. Once it cleared up, she still gets the normal ones now. She also has the watering you mentioned. I talked it over with my vet and it is normal.

Your pup does have a cute face, plus wait until he grows into his paws! :D

Kryten regularly has what me call mucky eyes. I think his are environmental as it gets worse during times of high pollen or dirt levels in the air.
