I am officially a mastiff owner now! I have named him Gus. He is wore out after all the exploring and trip home. Notice the nice green hankercheif the breeder had on him when we got there, too cute.

006D4343-0FDD-403C-B999-EF9BFC60371D.jpeg All went well, all the playing and excitement wore him out. He slept from about 830pm to 830am, he whimpered once for about 3minutes. He ate breakfast and done his business, played a bit, got some leash lessons this morning. So on a hummerous note, my Greater Swiss Mtn. Dog is in season, and at 11 weeks he is full aware, of course the GSMD thinks he is silly...he follows her around a lot. They play a lot too. Her bed is next to his crate, I think that helped the transition as well.

Congratulations! Great to see that he is finally home. I know th statement sounds stupid and gets old, but enjoy the time while he is that size. I almost feel like we haven‘t enjoyed "enough" and after a few months he is all grown (physically). Time just flies by so quickly. I‘m happy for you and your family!

Yeah, your dog is awesome, I have looked at your post. They do grow fast for sure. It’s funny Gus is so taken by our other dog, when we separate them for training, one on one time, he Howels for her. He has really got acclimated to all of us today. Yesterday was everything’s new...

Just out of curiosity...how big are his parents (sorry if you have already posted it elsewhere).

The dad is 170 @ 17 months and the mom is 180 I believe. The breeder is raising the male on the leaner side until 2years, he is on the taller side. He looked really good, but will fill out later. This was not a planned breeding, but both parents are akc regestared. Gus weighed 39 pounds the day we got him at 11 weeks.

Congrats on the new addition. As was mentioned, enjoy the puppy stage as it doesn't last long. I see you have another large breed so it probably isn't new to you when it comes to waiting until maturity before neutering but we have seen a lot more posts on corso pages recently of vets pushing for the early neuter/spay :(

That really does seem to be a trend. Most people don‘t understand why a 6 or 7 months old Mastiff hasn‘t been neutered already. I don‘t care what people think about the subject, but even a lot of vets seem to be pushing owners into early neutering.

I have no intentions of having him “fixed” anytime soon, maybe never. We have decided to have our female dog fixed though. I am afraid the next heat she has, Gus will have figured things out, and growed a little bit.
