First Time Mastiff Owner

I'm a first time mastiff owner, my OEM, Milo, is 5 months old. Milo is the best dog we've ever had, hands down, and usually listens better than my 3 kids.:D I've done a ton of research on this breed and would love any advice or tips from other owners!

Welcome! Thanks for the laugh - you'll learn, you don't own a mastiff...they own you. Heart, body and soul - oh and the couch too!

Best advice we got was for consistency and patience. Mastiff's are extremely sensitive when it comes to being yelled at or even sternly reprimanded. A firm no works wonders and start your training as you mean to continue.

Pictures are almost most welcome too.

I'm hoping Milo will rub off on my kids! :lolbangtable:He is a sensitive dog, especially when I correct him (he's with me all day). Usually, saying no-no will stop whatever naughty behavior is going on. We've only had him 2 months and already love him so much. He goes every where with us and we're taking him into account while we are boat shopping.

Sounds like Milo picked a great family! Haven't heard of a mastiff with his own boat but many of us pick vehicles, couches, houses, fences, freezers and a myriad of other major purchases based on our legged fury babies.

We definitely don't want him feeling claustrophobic and freaking out in the middle of the lake lol. If anyone happens to know of a good doggie life jacket . . . Since I'm short, I'm hoping Milo and I can continue to share the couch. :crossfingers::crossfingers::crossfingers:
