Ive been charting weight for the litter but I have no data to compare it to. Any have any info on weights at any given time before 8 weeks? Even a biggest/smallest weight would work

Weight charts don't work well with large breed puppies because of so many variabilities. The most important being the number of pups in the litter and that more than a dozen isn't remarkable.

I prefer to use height measurements but have not been very successful with owner follow up.

I searched the forum and did see that chart. There were 10 in the litter so I assumed they would be smaller than average, which they are, but only a few in the litter are far off that. Not worried just didnt have anything to compare to

ooo ok...ive seen a lot of mastiff pups being born in my life cause my mother ,from the time I was a child, with help of my uncles and me and my brothers ,have always breed bullmastiffs....and usually we would go by the size and weight of stud and bitch..to guess the potential size of there pups..and like u said its a large litter soo they would come out small and that has happen a lot in our dogs and at about 3months the start growing normal and usually the large litters brings the more bigger pups expecially if they all survived the birthing...meaning they are all equally healthy...and soo was the mother...I thing your in for a good healthy litter of pups.....like the CC I got was under weight for about 3months and he came from a litter of 9....but his father weight was 163lb at 4 years old & 28"...and mom was 99lb at 2.5 years old & 26"....and hes 164lb...at 15mnths..and 28" at the wither.....

both parents are on the bigger side. grandparents too for that matter. Theres definitely a wide range of sizes. Its really amazing how theyve indivually changed over the 6 weeks. Males were lighter in weight but now are gaining on the females who where all bigger until they were on solid food. On a side note, keeping a whelping box clean for a litter that size is the hardest thing ever in the history of mankind

I will see if I have the weights in my book at home or on my spreadsheets when I get home for our litter of 11 that we had in March. When compared to our litter of 7 before there was a notable size difference in them but once they were able to get out on their own, in their new houses where they were not vying for food the gained to where they were supposed to be.

As for keeping the whelping box clean, consider a litter box that you can put in at 3 weeks to start training them where to use the bathroom. Then you scoop like a cat litter box and keeps the room cleaner and makes the whelping room a whole lot nicer place to be.

Theyre 6 weeks now and a few have taken to climbing out the 2 foot high whelping box at every chance they get. Im basically using a spare bedroom for puppy area. Im not sure where i want to go next. Build another wooden box but bigger or one of those wire pens shaped like a UCF ring. Im afraid that won't be sturdy enough to hold them once they get to rumbling around
