Before I post any more pics of our new pup, I want to introduce the dog that made our family fall in love with this breed. Angus was born in August 2004 in Indianapolis, IN. He was a constant fixture in our home, through the birth of our two children and a 400 mile move to Northern Michigan. Just before Christmas 2012 I took him to the vet for what I suspected to be congestive heart failure. The vet confirmed that he was having cardiac issues. He gave us a couple of options, none of which seemed right for our Gus. One of the things the vet told me that day was that what Gus really needed was to 'turn back the clock'. We decided to let him live out his final weeks at home in peace. He hung on through Christmas (even opened all of his own presents) and then on January 16th 2013 we had to make the decision to make that final trip to the vet. He had stopped eating (even treats) and we knew he was just hanging on for our sake. We will keep his ashes with us until we make our annual family trip to our cabin in the Upper Peninsula. It was a trip Gus loved, he really enjoyed spending time at the cabin. So we will spread or bury his ashes there.
RIP Angus 2004-2013
