Have a 2 year old english mastiff and thinking about getting a puppy

Hello,

I currently have a two year old male english mastiff who means the world to me. I have found a little mastiff girl and I have been seriously thinking about bringing her home. Does have one have any in site on bringing home a puppy. My dog is not at all aggressive again anyone or anything.

Has anyone been I this situation and how did things work out?

I love the way he is right now temperament wise and I was wondering did the puppy change the actions of hype adult at all.

I like kinda lazy dogs , chill, and loving. Is there anything I can look for during a puppy stage to help me figure out how the pup will be as it gets older?

How long did potty training the second one take and what methods worked better?

My last thought is I am a paramedic and I work a 24 hour shift every third day. My dog does just fine with the doggy door and having free rein of the house? Any thoughts on how long it will take for a puppy ?

We brought home a puppy to out 3 year old Cane Corso and the adult was a bit irritated with the puppy for a while, but now they do very well together.
We did have to play referee for a while.

As to the run of the house well that might be another matter depending on your puppy.
Our pup is 5 months old now and still doesnt get unsupervised run of the house, but she is getting better all the time.
Both dogs have bonded quite well, the adult gives corrections when needed and the little one learns from it.

My male EM came to us as a puppy when we had 2 goldens, when they passed my wife bought 2 little malteses. He was patient with them and always looks to make sure he doesn't step on them. He is really laid back and once he knew they were an accepted part of the family they can do almost anything to him and he doesnt even move. It's almost as if they are little flies he's pays so little attention to them. But if he's in the yard with them he protects them. Ive been thinking about possible adopting a mastiff as well so I'm interested in others experiences as well.

My male rottie came to my home when we have a BM male and 2 Gsd(male and female). At first there was some disturbance in the pack. Mainly my gsds started whining like a pig to draw attention from us. But my BM silently watched the puppy's behaviour and started to move along after a few days. Thats what i liked a lot about mastiff breeds. So i hope u would do ok adopting another mastiff puppy in an already mastiff home.

It should be fine. I would introduce them on neutral ground. Bring your pup to visit the new pup at the breeder's house.

Generally, the older pup is a great teacher for the younger pup.
