Cianna obedience 5 month's. This is how we did our heeling for a long time, to imprint muscle memory

Then we started adding the stimulating leash pops

Then we started increasing time heeling with out reward ( while still on my hand)

No video of this, but before I lifted my hand off her nose completely, I would lift my hand up for a sec, then put it back down, lift it up, put it back down etc.

Then we had her heeling without my hand on her nose, but with my hand in the air so she could watch it

Now we are heeling with out leash pops or hand in the air

Thanks all!!! She's doing great now. This method takes awhile, but you will have a gorgeous heel, to the best of your dogs ability. I will try to get a video of Ciannas heeling now, with nothing soon. We are going for our IPO BH June 1st, and our CD and RN sometime afterwards. Can't wait

What are we looking for with the leash stimualtion or "leash pops" as you mention? The dog's attention or focus?

Great looking pup btw!

Thank you!! Leash stimulation is probably a better term, I'm not real good at explanation. It's to pair later with the removal of the hand from the dogs nose
