  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

I feel a bit twisted for doing this...(warning - disturbing images - for some)

Is he used to eating things with the fur still on? Maybe he just doesn't like guinea pigs... I don't like fish. *shrugs* :)

Maybe halfway skin them to get him started, it might help? The first time I tried to give Odin an egg he rolled it around like a ball for a good long time. Then he finally dropped it and it cracked open. Once he realized the delicious treat inside he started immediately chomping them open as soon as he got them. I bet they just don't realize under all the fur is a prize. He did the same thing with a feathered bird. He chomped and threw it around like a toy, it took until the skin broke for him to really get that it was actually delicious food :D

I would skin it, or open it up a bit like others have said.

He's not stupid; I'm not surprised at his reaction at all. I would expect Mateo would do the same, having never fed a whole animal before (and he's been raw fed since a pup.)

He's never had food with fur on, but he does know how to do this

I did cut open the belly. I couldn't do anymore because I was too grossed out.

Oh god, I'm not skinning it. I found someone that wanted to buy it so I gave those two thaw/refrozened ones to her for free. I sold her my 3 rabbits and 1 guinea pig to her bull terrier. That dog ripped the rabbit up good and knew how to get to the good stuff. I have 6 guineas left lol, but at least I know it went to a dog that was able to enjoy it.

I'll just go to the meat store and buy a skinned rabbit for Hector.

Haha- hey, I would be the first to pass on the skinning, too...not my thing.

Good that the terrier made short work of the rabbit, at least- and the video of Hector with the bird is impressive. I think the only way Mateo would be motivated to rip open any type of prey is if he were absolutely starving...

You'd think these guardians have more savagery in them lol. Oh well.

Watching Hector spit out those feathers reminds me of watching a lion eat an impala in Africa. The lion spit out the fur he pulled off before ripping open the belly. Interesting he knows to do that with the bird but does not relate it to the furry critter.
