I hate people

Ok, not all people, just the ones who live across the street from me.

They bought the house last summer, they had one dog (heinz 57, vaugly bully looking). We almost never saw her though....

September they brought home a puppy, looks kinda like a smooth coated collie, terrified of Apollo from day one.

Mid November we discovered why Apollo had taken a sudden dislike to the sight of both dogs....seems 'potty and exercise' meant 'open door let out dogs, close door return to TV', both dogs were pottying in my front yard. It expained some unexplainable piles of poo I'd found. At least one such pile had alot of worms in it. I was not pleased. I decided I'd be even less pleased if ApOllo went through a window after the dogs like he was threatening to do. So I went over and talked to them.

Supposedly the older dog had been trained to the property lines at their old place (uhuh) and they'd assumed she was teaching the puppy the boundaries here....I pointed out that they had to teach her the new boundaries in the first place.

Patience, training takes time....begining of January I went back over and we had another little chat about their dogs coming across the street (unlit road, speed limit 55, two dark colored dogs....leash laws.....)

End of january I called animal control. The ACO musta said something to them, for the next few weeks they sent a kid out with the dogs. Mostly. And of course if said child wasn't paying attention it didn't mean much but it was an effort.

End of February they stopped sending the kids out with the dogs. A week later I called animal control again.

Just about the same time period they got a THIRD dog. Young male, boxer I think. Donno what the ACO said this time but every time they've had the dogs out since they've been on tie outs. Donno how long I expect it to last, but I'll take it. Course if that boxer is ever loose when Apollo is out its not going to be pretty, the boxer HITS the end of his cable everytime he sees Apollo.

At some point in the last few weeks they got a cat. Bet you can guess what comes next. Never mind the stupidity of allowing a cat to free roam in an area with signifigant coyote and fox population. Apollo is DETERMINED that cat is not allowed on HIS property. I have to carefully look over MY OWN yard before taking my dogs outside, or I find myself holding onto two dogs who WANT TO GET THAT CAT. Not sure how the local laws apply to cats, guess its time to find out.

I feel you. We live in a complex of cottages/small houses. So many random dogs just run around peeing and pooping in our yard and then I'm forced to clean up after them or else people will blame me because of my dogs. Is it bad that I can distinctly tell which poop belongs to my dogs and which doesn't?

Nope, I can too, course mine are raw fed which helps.

They have 1.5 acre yard, thats plenty to keep those animals in dammit. I very nearly lost ahold of Apollo tonight, and although he's fine with my cats his intentions for that one are not benign.....

Eesh that seriously sucks. The people kitty-corner from us have a huge and aggresive Black Lab who thinks it's fun to rush barking a snapping at Oscar then skid to a halt just outside the comfortable range to throw something at him. We've caught him in our pasture, in our front yard 10 feet from the house, digging in our burn pit for bones, etc. There's no fence, no one outside with the dog at any time, and I've seen it doing the same thing to other area houses.
We haven't seen much of him in our yard since hubby brought out the .45 long Colt and fired a couple of warning shots.
And no Smart_Family it's not bad ... I can easily tell which piles belong to Oscar!

Theres a pair of GSD's kitty corner to us that I refer to as the 'psychotic dogs' but they're restrained by an efence at least, so I don't actually have to deal with them.....

Whats kinda funny is the whole neighborhood know who I mean when I say 'the house with the psychotic GSDs'.....at least they've taken steps to confine them though. Its really all I ask.....

I'm so happy we're out in the boonies. If I see a dog, it's lost or been dumped. Most of the time. However there is this little ragamuffin yapper shih tzu (maybe) that insists on showing up every once in awhile. One chomp from our dogs & he would be dead. I think he's in love with Ruby; seems like he shows up when she's in heat. He struts up to the dog yard, all full of himself; Ruby or Bella let one one BARK & he's gone. He looks like he's never been groomed. Filthy little beast.

I feel ya too. Been there and done that. In my previous house, after I first moved in, the neighbor dogs would crap in my front yard daily. So I'd scoop it up and fling it in their yard. About a month of this happening I'd had enough. I sorta went off on the first person who lived there that came across my path... Which happened to be the wife. I didn't get too mean, but I got the point across that this wasn't okay. A week or so later, with more sh*t in my front yard, and more of me flinging it back, the husband came out. His excuse, "well, the previous guy who lived there had a Rotweiler and all the dogs went back and forth between the lawns"... Do you see a Rott here now? (this was even before I had my previous dogs, so I had zero dogs at this time). "Well, no, but" Well you know they sh*t here, and you know there isn't a dog here in my house! "I'll clean it up, and I guess I'll have to keep them in the back yard from now on. He says this with an attitude! Oh man I was ready to come unglued. It was 11 years living next to this clueless pr*ick with maaaaany more incidents between us. Oh, so your dogs want to use those long muzzles to snap under the fence in my back yard? (big, black mixed sibling dogs, husky something) I have a solution, but they won't like it... And soon afterwards the ex took my shovel away...
I don't advise anything that I did for others to get ideas on. But. I don't put up with that sh*t.

We had a family with GSD's who were allowed to run loose. The young male was always pooping in our front yard. He also chased cars, trucks, & motorcycles down the street. The last straw was when he chased me up on the hood of my car when I came home from work one day. We politely explained to the people that we love dogs; we have one of our own ("Really? I never see a dog at your house." THAT'S BECAUSE HE STAYS IN HIS OWN BACK YARD YOU MORON), someone might get a little pissed and take it out on your dog instead of you. That got them huffy, & they totally ignored us & let the dog run loose, until he got hit by a car. It was so hard to not say I told you so.

hah @ akbull. If this wasn't NY state I'd have already gotten out the air-rifle....no one in the area would so much as blink at the sound....but I don't want to deal with the aftermath, and its not the animals fault their owners are idiots....

I live in an apartment complex which the lease clearly states that all dogs be leashed. There are about 5 people who let their little poodles and terriers run free. Titan doesn't care for little dogs to charge him. Two little girls were playing with their 2 little terriers. The dogs saw Titan and charged him. They tried to catch them and they had zero recall. I told them that they had to leash their dogs. They picked them up and walked away. I'm hold Titan's head up in the air while they were sniffing him. If Tian had bit them, I would not have Titan right now. Pisses me off...

I hate people who never sees my value or let me say worth, sometimes I want to escape and hide in one place where everyone don't know me. I ask myself why I 'm still close to them despite of their treatment and the only thing that I remember is love and give with out anything in return, that's life rather. Any way let me ask you this if you don't mind, do you have nay idea about ?

I feel your pain... we have new neighbours that have moved in across the street and have 12 cats (apparently all fixed but somehow they now have kittens to give away) and 2 smallish white mutts. The young puppy is tied because he might take off but guess what, we live on a blind hill and guess which dog is the ones I see taking off, the old one has almost been hit I don't know how many times, he comes over and uses the washroom on our lawn. Taunts the other neighbours dog until she blasted through her tie out and now they have an underground fence on maximum :( Until our fencing is done our dogs go out on leash because I don't want to risk them running something down but I am concerned that one of these days their animals are going to be too close to the house before I see it and while my dogs know our cats and dogs invited into our house are off limits they will not take another dog coming in their area behaving like these little dogs do :( I have reached my limit of smelling cat piss in my garage and their dogs running to my property to do their business. I may have 5 dogs crapping on my lawn but they know where to do it and where not to and they don't go running to other people's lawns to do it.

Guess there might be a thread coming up from some of us on our neighbour's reaction after discussions.

Hmmm, haven't seen the cat since the 4th of July. Hadn't gotten around to calling animal control yet cause I've been busy. I hope for the sake of the cat that it didn't run into a coyote, but if it did I wouldn't be surprised...
