My gosh that's a ton of work!! You can use the MTG wo the revolution but it the drops clear it up so fast. I wouldn't want to put that many different chemicals on my pets. I would honestly go to another vet. Are you doing the dips or them? I've always done the cheapest, fastest. Especially since most of the dogs were rescues waiting for adoption. If he was just at the vet you can call and get the drops wo a visit. They should run you about $20 a month. And you can buy them singles, if they don't find another. I swear you'll see a huge difference in just a few days.
It's Shapelys MTG, if they want more the $16-18 they're over charging. Just remember, don't leave the dog outside in the sun with it on. The mineral oil can cause sunburn :) and wear gloves when you put it on, that oil keeps your hands slick all day :)

Glo, really give up the dips and ivermectin, sometimes they'll build up an immunity. Get Revolution give the full dose for weight, 2 weeks later give a full dose, and daily rub MTG on all the sore spots. That makes me angry that the vet has kept doing the same thing that doesn't work instead of going cheap easy and fixing the problem.
Poor pup. Please keep me updated :)

Hi y'all, I have a 9 month old Neapolitan Mastiff. I started to see some scabs 2 months ago and her hair was falling on those spots so I took her to the Vet and she scraped her and said she has Demodectic mange, which he said it's not big deal. He told me that there were 2 treatments involved for this:
1- Dips twice a week for 6 months, the only treatment approved by the FDA, or
2- Ivermectin injection, but ORALLY. Through the mouth. He recommended the later. Bella has been 2 months taking 2 cc's of the Ivomec (Ivermectin) every day, and it's the same. Nothing better. The only thing is that the hair is not falling, but she's bumpy and scabby all over, specially on her left cheek :( The doctor gave her now antibs "just in case" he said. She's been taking 3 "Cephalexin" 500 mgm capsules twice a day, for a total of 3 grams and she's the same. What can I do? I stopped her on the ivermectin because she hardly wanted to eat. She took it for 2 months. So, is my vet accurate? What do you recommend? He also gave me a medicated shampoo containing: Chloroxylenol 2% Salicylic Acid 2% and Sodium Thiosulfate (source of soluble sulfur) Is this good? what can I do? I feel bad for my baby.

Hi Glo, my DDB has spent the last month on Ivermection as well and had her 1st skin scrap a few days back. Happy to report that there were no live mites found, only a couple of dead ones and the majority of the hair has grown back in the 2 patches she had. Like your dog, Lulu has been off her food but happy she is back on track and looking great. I googled side effects as Lulu was a bit smelly....made for interesting reading....apparently lemon juice is also very effective and 100% natural which is the best bit
