Personally I wouldn't mind the Frenchie or the Pug.....the rest gag, when I worked in the grooming and kennel department that was all I saw. No diversity at all......

I admit I want a standard poodle and a Pomeranian someday.

I do like standard poodles don't think I'd own one though. Poms don't bother me too much, the rest PASS...

Always makes me laugh these topics I'd be willing to bet most of you that say I'd never want one of those dogs havent grown up with one or kept one a lot of them are lovely. You would be surprised how much some of the little dogs have to offer. Dont judge by the little ones you see with no training that an old woman has. My Yorkshire Terrier x Chihuahua is one of the most loving and fantasic companions and a very good watchdog.

I think this list is ludicrous and far worse than the 'manly dogs' one. The only dog I would consider on that list is a Standard Poodle with a natural coat.

Nope nope nope......

However, at the vets office a couple weeks ago i saw a lday with a chihuahua that had a coat just like blue heeler, really cool looking dog. Her other 2 dogs at home were a blood hound and weinmareiner. So she was actually a big dog owner. and guess what. the chihuahua was well behaved, not barking, ON THE FLOOR!!!! (its true, was not being carried!) I was very impressed.

The only small dogs I like are Chinese Cresteds and Italian greyhounds. But I'ld never get one. Unless I was super old.

Ironically, the majority of the breeds on that list that I see are usually being walked by men.

Ive never owned a small dog but years ago I used to puppy sit the most adorable Yorkie. He had a great personality. These days I'm too lazy for a dog that requires me to bend over to pet them!

The only small dog I have ever cohabited with was a JRT rescue and she was the bomb!
Besides that we had GSDs growing up, and the only small dogs around we're my Aunts horrid little creatures that would bite us for no reason.
On that list I would get a frenchie in a heart beat. I have recently developed a fondness for Pom's. I have a few that I groom that I am completely smitten with.
As for the rest on that list... :scared2: ppppsssshhhaaawwwww
I actually find both of the lists rather offensive TBH.
I would say that of my female friends 95% have large or extra large breed dogs.
We have MANY male customers who come in with the smaller breeds.
I also took a look at the other list, the most family friendly breeds and again I am not sure where they are getting their info, but the breeds most suited to children certainly didn't make the cut.

I can honestly say I've never met a well-mannered representative of any of those breeds except one professionally-trained showring Poodle. The only way to make this list more insulting is to include "Crosses of Any of the Above" as legitimate breeds. And I have to say, as a matter or personal taste, I hate Pomeranians.

Whatever...I'll stick with my 110lb DDB. However, pugs are cool dogs but would not want to own one. I like big dogs!
