*sigh* No wonder this breed is going downhill so fast in the states. I say neuter your dog and enjoy him as a pet.

sadly there are many more breeds in that club, German shepherd, rottweiler, doberman to just name the few and from the looks of it many more are going to join.

you think it's just the states ??? seems that a number of breeders import pups , and when they do they automatically are breedable because they were imported ....... based on the 6 imports i've dealt with of which only two turned out to be healthy impressive dogues , i have my doubts they are any better anywhere else ?????? i read where this guy tells me his dogue meets the criteria i put out there and shows pedigrees comprised of imported and non-USA bred dogues ........ i still however doubt it , as the odds of them meeting that minimal criteria are slim to none , and i have doubts whether he could differenciate whether or not the dogue does meet that criteria ........ as far as the breed going downhill , well there were some pretty poor ones around in the 1980's , and they were all imports , the first ddb i ever seen , you couldn't have paid me to take them .........when you accept the facts that your dog will most likely only live 5-6yrs and you need to worry that they may drop dead on a hot day , or how much they run around , downhill seems the only direction it could possibly go ......

That's because they import a pup but still don't do the health testing and showing like they should. That's what's wrong with America. They just want to make a quick buck. I'm not saying everyone, there are some good DDB breeders in the states (though their numbers seem to be dwindling when compared to all the BYBers popping up everywhere), but my preference is definitely more towards what is being produced over seas. Of course there will still be kennels over seas that are producing poor quality dogs, but that is where doing your homework comes is - no matter from where you choose to get a dog.
