He's home! Time and patience, he's stressed due to the change and no longer with his siblings.
Not home just yet, he's got a trip back to texas tomorrow. And yes I'm up this late because of him. We had him sleeping in a crate but, he had a cough and I woke up. I was worried cause he wasn't really moving but I figure it was cause he was being Lazy, his nose at the time was warm. But it's back to being cold :) I've gt him all snuggled up in a blanket and he's sleeping well now.

He's such a doll. All he wants is comfort right now so lots of hugs and kisses from us. He has never been in a house and seems afraid of doors. So we have to lug him outside. He's a trooper though, hasn't barked once and only whined a little when he thought he was all alone.

:D little fellow already has my heart.

because hes already gone through a kot chanfe We're going to keep him on purina puppy chow for a week, then start weaning onto taste of the wild.

He's around 25-30 lbs haven't been able to get an exact measurement.

He WAS going to ride in the crate on the way home, but i think he may end up on the floor near my feet (out of the sun and in the ac) He's shown interest in the pig ears/nylabones but he's just wanted comfort so he hasn't played much

What part of Texas? Fellow Texan!

Be watchful over the cough, it could be kennel cough which is highly contagious to other animals. No need to rush to the vet, just keep an eye on him. Keep him away from high traffic areas since he's not fully vaccinated.

East Texas area! I hail from Texas but live In missouri because of my bf and be a use little humidity lol

That's what im thinking. He hasn't coughed since which was about 2 hours ago. I think. I've been slipping In and out of sleep lol.

He has a vet appointment tuesday to start all his puppy shots and worm treatments (if he has them)

He puked twice on the 5 minute ride from where we picked him up to the place we're staying at, so I'm researching into giving him dramamine as I use it on my pomeranian but he's not a puppy. I just want sizer to be comfortable and he's never ridden in a car before.

Hmmm. That's good too know. He hasn't really don't much but not on it for a second. The nylabones he will chew on (they're soft rubber puppy ones) but only if I hold it.

We did get him to play for about 15 minutes (I would blow air in his face and make high pitched baby talk at him) he took my hand in his mouth as to play but didn't even bite down. (I've been worried about having to train him bit inhibition) but I think all the extra time with momma and his siblings did that for me, he didn't even nibble, really just held my hand in his mouth for a couple seconds.

He's going to be so spoiled by us. I can already tell my bf is in love with him. :3

I'm in obsessed mommy mode right now.... I want to lay on the floor and cuddle with him, but he needs to learn a little separation as starting from tomorrow onward he will be in his big boy cage to sleep. I did wrap him in a blanket which I think help calm him down (this blanket has been Rubbed on my cat and other dog to get used to their smells)

He's going to fit right Into our small family :)

Good point, AB! Make sure the pig's ears are not made China. Treats made in China are bad for dogs. :(
I refuse to by Chinese made dog products. So he got good old merican made piggy ears :)

I do have a question on treats, it may be the stress and he's just not into them yet, but what's a good high value treat that I can train with? I got some healthy dry treats but he prefers his kibble.

He's stressed and that could be why he's refusing treats. Try boiling some chicken and cut into pieces for training treats. After he's been home for a couple of weeks, he will be ready to eat those treats. However, hopefully he will not be a pup that is not food motivated.

Yeah he's leaning towards praise from my previous puppy experience. We had a potty party last night. He was very confused about why we were praising him using the bathroom. It was cute.

We had subway and he perked up at the smell but didn't beg or anything. I hope he comes out of his shell. For the first 2 hours all we did was hold him in our laps (he didn't want to move) but he bonded very well with my bf so far. He just has that mastiff sad face look at all times :3

He is WAY bigger then we expected. About 10 lbs heavier to I was worried he was underweight but he seems healthy. Can't wait to take him to the vet tomorrow so I can get a clean diagnosis and start the puppy vaccination process.

Once he's passed round 3 he's going to be over socialized

Congratulations on your new puppy he is adorable. He will settle in, just give him some time. The obsession doesn't go away, I'm still obsessed with my pup and he's nearly 3. I have found with my guy that his high value treats are fruits and veggies, just do some research because there are some that you can't feed them (onions, grapes for example). I can't make a salad or veggie tray in my house without him at my feet reminding me he's there and would like a treat too.

Thanks for the advice. Honestly we're still looking for a high value yet healthy treat for him. So far we've been using small (pea sized) cheese pieces for the potty parties. I tried carrots but he didn't like them.

Also the adjust for the other two animals is interesting... My cat is just staring at him or me with disgust in her eyes (she will get used to him soon, she did with my Pom)

My Pom (who's an old man) tolerates sizer. He's growled a few times to let him know when he's getting to rough, but nothing worrying. I don't let them be alone together though. Sizers not used to his strength.

Here's a pic that depicts their relationship right now

Give them time. You are right in not letting them be alone.

I'm more worried for the little one. He's fragile lol

Sizer is doing great. He ONLY howled for 5 minutes last night in his cage, and the middle of the night potty break he whined for a couple but went to sleep.

He already knows sit. Doesn't know his name but we demand he sit when we pet him. So smart :3

Well Sizers first vet visit went well today, he didn't whine or even flinch when he got his shot. Took the up the nose medicine well, and his fecal test showed no worm eggs.

He did however have a yeast infection in his ears. Easy to fix

We also started him on flea meds as he was covered in them.

The vet assistant tried to convince me to get him neutered at 5 months but I stuck to my guns of 18months to a year. Other then that they were really surprised on how well behaved he was.

Seriously he's super chill and sleeps a lot.
We've started potty training, it's rough going :/ but to be expected

He has learned sit though, before his name even lol.

Here's pics of us at the vet
