Is my puppy on a good weight schedule?

Hi

I have a 18 weeks old full bread female french mastiff! She's adorable but has worried me the couple of first months (weeks).

She was (is) a difficule eater. On a whole day she only ate 0.88 lbs of meat. The last 3 weeks she's getting to eat a lot more!

My question: Is she on track with her weight compared to other female french mastiffs?
She isn't sick, en she is for a bordeaux dog full but full of energie!!!!

Her grow chart so far!

7 weeks 14.9 lbs
8 weeks 16.5 lbs ( this week she was home with us)
9 weeks 18.2 lbs
10 weeks 18.9 lbs
11 weeks 23.8 lbs ( first week that she's started to eat a little more)
12 weeks 24.6 lbs
13 weeks 27.5 lbs
14 weeks 31.5 lbs
15 weeks 35.1 lbs
16 weeks 38.1 lbs
17 weeks 41.6 lbs
18 weeks 45.1 lbs

Your pup looks great not fat and not to thin. You have to remember puppies go thru a plump belly then they sprout up look thin then look good again. As long as you don't have the pup extremely heavy you are doing great ...

You pup is adorable :)

She looks great. Try not to compare her to other dogs too much. These big dogs grow for the first 2-3+ years of life, just at different rates.

My god she's a knockout! She's right about where my girl was a those ages, slightly heavier even. She looks just fine to me. No worries.

Average weight gain for DDBs is .5 lbs per day give or take. Which is about 3-3.5 lbs per week. But thats an average, not an absolute.

Your girl's body condition looks good, and that matters more. She's neither fat nor skinny - just right.

Knox was gaining 1/2lb a day since we got him he was 14 at 8weeks. And now at 16weeks he just weighed in yesterday at 41lbs I've been updating his thread here with his weights but yours seems to be right on track

Glad I found this thread. I just got back from the vet with my 9 week old pup and he weighed in at 16lbs, 8.5lbs at 6 wks so he pretty much doubled, but I'm curious too if he's in the small side? Here's a pic of him today. image.jpgimage.jpg

He looks good. Every pup is different. As long as he's eating well, has been dewormed recently and active, I wouldn't worry about it.

Darco: your pup is gorgeous! Welcome to the addiction ;) and don't drive yourself crazy by worrying about pounds, if she looks good then she's just where she needs to be. I've limited myself to one weigh in a month after we were through getting all his shots, it's a lot less stressfull than going week by week in my opinion.

What's her name?????
