Is this a common occurrence when bringing two puppies home together? We have always had two dogs, but there has always been at least 18 months between them. The first time was because we didn't know we would want two dogs and that's how it worked out, and there after it was new dogs after our older ones passed.
We have had three Rottweilers and two Cane Corsos (our last two). Out sweet boy Tsavo we lost in August 2020 to cancer. He was 5 weeks shy of 12. We lost our sweet girl Pamina May 6th, also to cancer. She was 3 1/2 months shy of 13.
We plan to take some time without dogs, but it's the first time in 25 years we haven't had a dog around. We miss Pamina like crazy and we miss not having a dog.
Anyway, I was starting to investigate breeders and litters, and we thought if and when we do this again, we would get two puppies together and that's when this discussion on littermate syndrome came up.
I'd like some insights from some of you with well founded opinions and experience on the matter.
If any of you want to find some pictures of our beautiful pups that have past (Tsavo and Mina), I have lots on my Instagram account k1600_johnny.
Thank you
