Looking for a toy....

Yesterday I found this dog toy at the grocery store. A little plush frog, it 'ribbit-ribbit'ed when squeezed instead of squeeked. Of course this meant it had an actual plastic voice box rather than a squeeker.

The dogs went berserk over it.

Apollo got it first, while I distracted Arty. He spent several minutes squeezing it JUST hard enough to set it off, then pulling back and staring at it, and repeating. Then Arty go ahold of it and that was that. I heard the plastic voice box break and took it away before Arty tried to eat it.

Anyone know of a dog toy that makes similer sounds thats a little sturdier?

My friend buys duck- or goose-shaped toys whose squeaker makes a kind of croak rather than a proper squeak, but they're stuffed and aren't meant to take mastiff-style abuse ... and we have our "indestructible" squeaker snake that makes fart-like noise and isn't stuffed at all. Both kinds were available at our local Ace, but have never had one that made a "ribbit".

I've had a couple different sounding squeekers, they love those too, but this was an actual ribbit. I still have it, and it still makes noise...I'll video it lol. NOTHING is indistructable when it comes to Arty, but Apollo's fairly soft mouthed when he wants to be. I'd just like something that might last for five minutes lol?

And them arguing over the froggy. I had to take it away again once Arty gained control....

I would just like a toy that is indestructable, any toy will do. Mooshi doesnt do toy play she does toy murder!
Same here. I bought Sadie a Jolly Ball, thinking since it is made for horses, it would last. Well....Sadie managed to chew the handle of the thing in about 5 minutes *sigh*

Thats Arty. Apollo is incredibly gentle with his toys. Not counting cardboard boxes or tubes I can count on one hand the number of toys he's killed. Arty on the other hand.....yah, once he has it, its dead. Its just a matter of time. I knew the froggy wasn't going to last as soon as I picked it up off the shelf, but it was totally worth Apollo's reaction to get it.

Bear is very gentle with his toys too...until Moo gets her chops around them. Bear had a little stuffed deer for ages and he used to take it everywhere with him and sleep with it. The day we brought Mooshi home he gave it to her (he loves her sooooo much) and she killed in within 10 minutes. Poor Bear. ;)

LOL @ Apollo's disappointed howl and subsequent victory with the froggy toy. It really does ribbit ... never seen one like that.

@Mooshi: aww poor Bear ... hard to get your toy and your heart broken like that all at once.

the howl was Arty actually lol, Apollo only vocalizes to ALERT, which doesn't mean that he never barks.....
