My experience with an accidental litter...

Oh my goodness- I have been following this thread and I have to say how impressed I am with your facility in "stepping up" and doing above and beyond, really...and that you are recording all of this for others' benefits...(or posterity, lol.)

I am sure I would be way out of my league if this had happened in my place... kudos to you.

They all look so chubby and cute-- so, i guess brindle must be a dominant coat color, as none of them have the fawn?

And have you decided if you will keep a pup? That is, if CR doesn't come in the dead of night and steal them all... :p

You can only have a pup if I can come babysit Mateo while you are gone.......

Otherwise back off!!!!

You know, and I know, that if you ever came to babysit Mateo that I would probably come home to an empty apt....with just a trail of drool after you lured him away with steaks and promises of road trips and swimming pools.

:no2:

But, dang...those puppies are cute little chunksters...

I think Betty is dominant brindle since both her parents were brindle, but it is possible to have a fawn brindle pairing with both types of puppies.

I am still fighting with my fiance to keep one. So far 5 or 8 are spoken for and they are only 3.5 weeks old. The best part is all the prospective owners are local which I like.

SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, close your tired little eyes mommy. I will take care of the pups.

And Mateo lol

lullaby, close your eyes, sugar plums, counting sheep whatever works.....lol

Well, you'll have to make a stipulation on puppy ownership. They must join forums and post at least 3.5 pictures every month =P

You're doing a great job. Loving all the photos you have my wife cooing over here.

LMAO over here. You totally might both have to beat me to Mateo, though. He is completely fantastic!

The purple is my favorite, but she already has a family who has owned Mastiffs before interested in her. It is truly bittersweet.

Awwww...but also, yay! You are so doing great at this! Little purple will clearly have many hoomans to love her for and with you! Make joining here a condition so we can all follow these fur babies? Just a thought.

I am definitely going to suggest it. This forum is such a great resource and support group. I have also shared with the new owners that I am around for the lifetime of the puppies to help them with any questions, issues, or concerns they have, and if I do not have the answer I will help then find someone who does.

Not to mention my friends and family get tired of hearing about my dogs and seeing pictures, but this forum is full of people who are just as passionate as I am about these dogs.

The babies all got fancy new collars after lunch today that they can grow into and take to their new homes.

After this week I am going to let Betty come back to sleeping with us at night rather than being locked in with the puppies. She misses it so much.

I was worried they wouldn't fit since I purchased the small/medium dog collars, but they all fit perfectly on the smallest setting. They are getting bigger than I realize. I am going to try to get them used to having a leash on and walking on a leash before they go home at 8 weeks. I know I would have loved if either breeder claymore or betty came from bothered to do that.

They are getting so much better at the eating thing. I noticed since they are still nursing they are not interested in more than 2 meals a day.

They are also much more playful. They have started climbing on me and trying to eat me. It's quite adorable.

Here is Claymore looking majestic this moring....

OMG...Bella sleeps with her tongue out half the time. So cute. He's probably happy to be getting more love now that the pups are a bit more self sufficient.
