A heavy worm load will cause the belly to expand since the worms are filling up the intestines and pushing them out.I'm also a new owner (a DDB) and I noticed the tummy in the picture too, but at the risk of sounding silly, I had always thought that they looked underweight if they had worms? I just ask because maybe that is a misunderstanding that I have and I want to learn as much as I can. Thanks for the feedback!
A disproportionate belly could mean a very bad case of worms. Which can also cause a lot of other problems if left untreated including malnutrition.I'm also a new owner (a DDB) and I noticed the tummy in the picture too, but at the risk of sounding silly, I had always thought that they looked underweight if they had worms? Welcome to the world of mastiffs, they snore loudly and when they fart they can melt the paint off the walls. The gas is most likely a poor diet, and not the cause of the stomach.Hes a lazy little hound and i love it. He pooped earlier when i got home with him and there were no worms in his stool. Hes been farting real bad so i wonder if he could be bloated? Either way hes gonna get checked tomorrow. Sent from my SCH-R970X using Tapatalk
