I have been making these for my dogs for awhile and they are really durale tugs. Hectors mom suggested I produce and sell these. I had sent her one as a sample and reminded me that I should sell them. Not sure of a price just yet but here ae a couple samples I have.

The all orange one is one length of rope.

I noticed the one with the red cord that when I let Jade have it unsupervised she did chew on the melted end.
So I made the all orange one with knots and the end melted into that.
The gray one is old and Jade plays with it all the time and so far it has held tight.

It would be better if the knotted part was longer and the tug part somehow thicker because it does hurt when they pull hard lol. Other than that I thought it was a great toy and would be totally awesome with those who have strong prey drive.

They look durable. They retail here (australia) for around $15 for large size. Ive not seen nylon rope used before, tends to be cotton.
You can get the ones that last 10 mins for a fiver, but why bother right?

I have to make a certain type of tug, for dogs to play with tug of war, no human involved game. It looks garbage compared to the quality of yours!

Mike - can you make ones with a longer section of the tug with double ended handle? I looked up paracord stuff on youtube and it looks like a lot of fun ! Oh and another idea is to make a monkey fist with tennis ball core.

I have an orange rope monkey fist toy for Jade no core because the fist is already big enough. As for a doubel handle I can see a way to do it in my head just need to make it. There would be two knots on the end and then the finished knots at the loops. Making a longer bite area is easy but the dog will already try to bite at the loop (they all do it). If you let them have it they shake it and beat themselves with it and of course this is something they love.

Do you have a link, and what do they call them under there?
