Just wanted so say hi!

I have a 6 month old pup, he is 75% boerboel-12.5% Dogo Argentino-12.5% Kangal. He is about 82lbs and 24-25" at the withers. I'll get pics up soon.

Looking forward to this informative site!

He is about 5 months old in the first pic and 10weeks old in the second. I got him from Andrew Johnston at olympicdogs.net The sire was 100% Boerboel, dam was 50%Boerboel-25%Dogo-25%Kangal. Andrew went all over the world bringing home these dogs from their native countries....pretty interesting mix of dogs!

Forgot to mention-I live in the Chicagoland area

Welcome to the forum. Interesting mix of dogs. Is there a reason they are crossing these breeds?

And it must be your host for the pictures. There is nothing not even an X for me. I use adblock and noscript so any cross site scripting will be blocked and sites with known malware or poor advertising practices will be blocked. Now the second set just popped in.

The site keeps making me sign back in evertime i try to post. I also still have the little note at the top of the site, saying that i haven't posted to the forum yet. Probably something to do with Mozilla or some adblock software.

I'm not sure exactly why he is mixing these breeds, but they definately turn out to be some awesome dogs. You should go to his site, he has a ton of information on there!

Very good looking pup...Different look, unique. Can't really say he looks like any one of the breeds you listed. :)

I did go and then remembered I had visited some time back. Looks like part of his crossing is done just to be defiant, like a little rage against the machine. While I like all the dogs he is dealing with I do not agree with his actions. Like breeding with black Boerboels which are already a controversial dog. Then crossing with a Kangal? I just don't see the purpose. Your dog looks good and I am not knocking him. I hope he turns out to be just what you want him to be. Of all the dogs you listed in his breed I can't see any and none have black as a standard accptable color. Does he explain why your dog came out black?

You are correct that black is not a standard "acceptable" color, but if you were to follow the lineage of his dogs, he has produced black pups. I've been to this guys farm, and its the real deal. Dogs all have papers, dogs are actually more impressive in person (especially Mandela below), and he def has a lot of knowledge on them.

Pic is of the sire. 170lbs 30 in at the withers.

Dam on the left at 8 months. At maturity she was 130lbs and 30" at the withers. (Male kangal Dogo x boerboel)

I know it seems like mad scientestry, but these are some very impressive dogs. I like big dogs but i will not sacrifice size for agility/athleticism or health. I don't want a lawn ornament. Plus I'm not really into purebred/inbred dogs (not stating all purebred are inbred).

Here is a link to the video of the litter from which mine came from, it shows the dam and one other black pup that was produced.

I'm not trying to stir the pot i just wanted to give you the full details. Sorry if my response reads the wrong way...
