I shouldn't have let her see me picking berries the other night, i guess she was watching me jump up and grab the branch then pull it down and pluck the berries off. So she disappeared on me today and i found her up the mountain side picking berries, so tonight i figured i would try and get it on video. She jumps up grabs the branch and lets it slide through her mouth and the berries come right off lol, they are saskatoon berries and hard to come by, damn dogs getting all the easy pick ones and make me work for mine!

Yes they are similar to blueberries but they arent as sweet as blueberries , i have read they are similar in health benefits as the blueberry to, and did i mention the GAWD AWFULL FARTS she has since shes been eating them hahahahaha. I was trying to get enough to freeze some but it appears i have to be faster then the damn dogs! See i made the mistake of giving them a couple berries to try while i was picking them, that was my downfall right there hahahaha dumb human zero, fila's 1

The things we inadvertently teach them are crazy! Good for her! She is foraging and doing a fine job. She seems very pleased with herself. :)

Kona is such a doll! The look she gave you in the beginning of the video when you were following her. It was like she was saying, "Dude, can I have some privacy?"

Chuck you ever make blackberry jelly? Or wine?

I made black berry jelly one year and OMG what a frickin mess and time consuming, crushing the berries and then mashing them through a strainer to get all the seeds out. You know how many berries you have to crush to get 4-5 cups of juice, TO FRICKIN MANY!!!! And the STAINS omg the purple stains everything had purple stains for a long time, including my fingers hahahaha, every time i see a black berry my eye starts to twitch lol

Yea Sir Ace. We have blackberry, blue berry, and mixed berry with both of those and strawberries. And some mixed berry topping for cakes or ice creme.. Budda would wait till the matters started turning red. Soon as there was enough red for a whole bite, he would take it. We never did get any matters that year. ahahaha

Chuck I don't think there is any fruit or vegetable that has such a diffrence in taste between store bought and home grown like tomatoes. I pick tomatoes off any restaraunt food because they taste nasty to me. But I can slice a homegrown one, sprinkle a little salt and pepper and eat it by itself.

Mountain it helps when you have the right strainer and masher, makes it faster. Some people actually like the seeds, not me.
