Local boxer dog pistol-whipped protecting owner

WEST TOLDO (WTOL) - Two year old boxer Delila loves her family and will protect them at all costs.
So when two unknown teenagers came to their door, the homeowner says, "I told them that I didn't have a cell phone, that maybe they could go to my next door neighbor's house."
The two men came back to their west Toledo home claiming they had just been attacked. The owner, who asked not to be identified, tells us, "The guy was like, 'f' man, 'f' man, we just got jumped. You can't help us out with anything. You can't help us out with anything."
Delila stayed by her owner's side. "The guy asked me, 'Why are you holding your dog?' I said, 'Because she bites.'"
Delila attacked when the teens pulled a gun. Her owner knew it was a robbery and tried to close his door.
The dog kept biting one suspect in the leg. That suspect then hit her in the head with the weapon. The owner says, "She yelped. She backed up toward the dining room."
The owner said he was able to pull the gun away. The suspects ran and the homeowner called police. He now says he should have never opened the door.
Man and dog are still nursing their wounds but glad they still have their best friends.
