  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Oh dear, please send some good thoughts

The little one got into my mop bucket of bleach and other chemicals this morning. :( He went to the bathroom in the crate no surprise, so after I was done walking him Thor decides he wants to mark the area where the pup went. So I grab Thor, place him outside on his leash, come back inside and see the little one drinking the mop bucket water. Again I have no clue how much he drank. No vomiting but he has the runs. He also seemed to sway more than usual ( he sways anyway because he has difficulty walking with his own big feet) I gave him some water to try to dilute whatever he drank and a couple of french fries. He ate and drank without a problem but still seemed out of it, very depressed. When I left to go back to work at lunch he just laid down. I locked Thor in the back room with him so he'll have some company while he's in the crate.

I know was complaining about this potty training and whining but this is the last thing I would want. Tomorrow would be his first full week with us. Please just keep him in your thoughts.

Best wishes, anything in the mop bucket is diluted at least, I doubt there will be long terms effects but hope the little fellow feels better soon!

Aw poor pup! Hopefully he hasn't burnt his throat and gut, that would be the biggest concern. Is he still eating? Hope he's up and bouncing around again before you know it. :(

a little bit's not bad, there's probly clorine in your drinking water and I know you can go quite a bit higher with no issues, larger doses could be bad, but I'm not sure where the limit is.

You might try getting him to drink some milk when you get home, thats what the vet said to do when Arty got into the lye soap...

Big yes to milk, but since it is going to be awhile before DD gets back I'm not sure it will help. Look for burns on lips and in the mouth. Hopefully, none. If there is I would take him to the vet ASAP, as it would indicate he ingested a lot. Otherwise, If you notice excessive drooling, signs of pain, nausea, etc, then you may want to take him to your vet for evaluation. I think it's somewhat unlikely that you'll see too much in the way of problems, though.

Thank you all.

I left work early. He seems to be ok, he started doing his usual puppy things. Yes he is eating he ate some treats and some french fries earlier. Then when I got home I gave him some treats for using the potty outside. I called a few vets, one said they couldn't help, the other one said to either watch him or take him to an emergency vet. I checked his mouth for chemical burns or soreness, didn't see anything. He is moaning a little but nothing significant or any other symptoms, however his left hock is swollen and seemingly tender.

Good news. I would go ahead and give him a little milk to coat his tummy, might give him loose stools. Keep us updated.

Yah, the milk might give him the runs, sorry, but it should help. Any blood in his poo and he might have damaged his instestines, so keep an eye on him for a couple days just to be sure.

sorry to read this DD. I will add him to our prayers tonight. Nothing like a good scare in the first week to really break him in eh? Keep us posted and try to get some rest. Let him play and drink all the water he can. I am sure he will be fine. By the way, what did you finally name him? Maybe guzzle gut??

Oh man I wasn't expecting to see this! Glad he's not feeling too poorly, please keep us posted. And give him a hug from me and a sorrowful look from Tess.
