Well my Cane and I were walking through our neighborhood when two teens "thugs with pants down low" approached from a distance with a Pit bull that looked like it was on steroids. It was tugging on its lead and the chain collar was damn near choking it as it was trying to lunge toward us. I decided to walk a little more over to give these thugs and their "bad boy" dog some room. As they got closer one said and I quote 'hey bro wasz kinda dog is dat"? I said from a distance its a Italian mastiff. He than asked how old as the other stood and smoked a cigerette. I said she is 10 mths and she is still a pup. He said "oh dats cool but not sure what kinda dog dat is" So I thought to myself should I educate the two teens or should I just move on. Ive learned people with pits are great owners most of the time, but, when two thugs are allowing the dog to lunge growl and act like a crazy dog i decided to keep walking. As I said "ok have a great day I gotta run home for dinner the pit bull tugged at the lead and pulled the teen closer to us. He than said "oh wait lets see how my boy acts near her" i said no gotta go. Within seconds and all happening so fast it jumped and grabbed my corso's neck. Honor is her name. I freaked and again happeining so fast I went to pull Honor back but she did the rest heres what happened.
1. the pit grabbed her neck
2. I yelled what the F!@#
3. I went to pull Honor back
4. Honor turned her head to the side
5.she pulled her head away and snapped at the pits face
6. she grabbed the pits nose with her bottom canine
7. she latched on and started to pull the dog backwards as blood starting to show on the pits nose and mouth area
8. I grabbed Honor by the back hair and said let go, let go and she listened to me
So Im now worried that what happened is my Cane Corso gonna be always alert and ready to attack now, or does she know that she was just doing her job when she was first attacked??
I do have to say though that deep down inside im proud of my 10mth old cane putting a whoop a!@ on a dog that attacked her for no darn reason. She walked away with me on the lead as if nothing ever happened and the two teens where kinda shoked as well. I told them in a smart ass voice, you should control your fisher price pit bull and have a nice day Please tell me she WILL NOT have dog aggression now as she never has and LOVES other animals including.....wait for it, wait for it cats n birds
