Hello everyone! My name is Joanna and my family and I are the very new and extremely proud owners of a 2 year old male Japanese Mastiff (Tosa Inu) X Bulldog by the name of Marrok.
We have been talking about getting a Mastiff or Mastiff cross for quite awhile now and two things hurried that decision along. We recently purchased a home and within a month suffered a home invasion. Our female yellow Labrador, Bella, was in the house when it happened and thankfully was unhurt though has proven she is no kind of guard dog LOL. Her breed is naturally friendly to everyone so that's to be expected.
However, since my husband works permanent nightshift it left me and my children feeling very unsafe in our new home so the decision to seek out our Mastiff became even more of a priority. Then fate stepped in. A family needed to rehome their Tosa Inu and he is everything we could want. Raised with small children and cats, used to being home with the mom and child while the dad was working, very well loved so that as much as he is a home protection factor, he was and is a beloved family dog. For me it's an added benefit that I don't have to get him through the less than fun puppy stage on my new carpets.
Now if this forum is like any others I bet you are thinking "okay enough with the typing lady....post some pictures!" So here he is....
Relaxing on the coolness of our kitchen floor...
Morning cartoon time with our youngst son Michael....
I know I'll have a lot of questions about Marrok and I'm so pleased to find a forum like this.
