On the subject of guns, are your dogs afraid of gun fire?
Abby gets nervous and is uncomfortable around gun fire, Zoey doesn't give a darn one way or the other, she never has ever since she was a baby.

I usually leave the puppies at home. I fear for their hearing health. Hank would accept it if I worked with him on it. Roxy I dunno she is very scared when it comes to loud/sudden noises.

My Pom thinks it is open season on poms if he hears a gunshot or anything that could be mistaken for one. My last EM was the same way only it must have been mastiff season. Emma, my BM puppy is nervous but will stay with me if I reassure her. I think it all depends on the dog and their personality.

Zoeys 1st introduction to gun fire was on a camping trip, she was following a herd of 5 chihuauas when my friend rips off with a 300 mag with a muzzle break, that thing will rattle your jaw it is so loud, Zoey just looked up and trotted off chasing the herd lol she has never reacted negatively ever since.

My Staffy will sit on my foot as I fire my 617 over his head. I leave them well back from the firing line for anything bigger... but they don't care at all about gunfire. For any rimfire, rifle or pistol, they are usually left just behind the firing line.

They didn't even blink at the 454 Casull. Granted they were around 60ft back from the firing line, but that still has a bit of sting.

I live near a sportsman club so lots of gun fire at times. Sonny was very scared at first, like trying to run off scared. But as he's grown(6 months now) and seen the other dogs stay calm he is not bothered as much. He pauses for a second but will return to playing catch, or whatever he was doing, quickly.

I live about a mile (as the crow flies) away from the local gun range. It is also across the road from the off leash area that I take the dogs to. There are times that the popping of gun fire is almost constant. At home there is absolutely no reaction. When a big gun blast goes off when we are at the off leash they will turn and look over but that's it. I have wondered if that sort of exposure is why neither of the dogs has any fear of load noises such as thunder or fireworks.

Well I don't know that my dogs have ever heard gun fire. But, I can tell you that I am afraid of gun fire! I was kind of okay after awhile with the 22 revolver I was trying out. But, when someone else came to the range with a much bigger gun I swear I jumped every time it went off... I have come to the conclusion that I only like to be around tiny guns that don't spit (revolvers not autos). I tried the automatic too and I didn't care for it. I was much jumpier with it and less accurate (probably because I was jumpy). Plus the auto kept misfiring which didn't help my nerves at all.. A nice tiny revolver is about my max speed when it comes to guns... But, honestly I think I'd prefer to take up knife throwing as a form of defense. Nice and quiet and no need to repurchase more supplies. :p

I do have a feeling that Cerberus wouldn't care one way or other about gun fire. He is basically bomb proof. Nothing much phases him. I have a feeling Diesel would be less tolerant of it. Diesel actually really dislikes bass heavy music. Sean likes to listen dubstep and other bass heavy music on occasion while I prefer softer more melodic music for the most part (unless Im practicing belly dance but that's different). Diesel prefers even more soft music than I do. He likes very mellow classical (no cymbals or harsh sounds) and lullabies. I mean he really really likes lullabies. lol

Zoey likes classic rock and Abby prefers country music, I'm not a big country fan but her mom is.

Back at the Arizona house, the weather is really nice, midnight and it is down to 82 degrees.
Only suppose to be 104 tomorrow, we will see, that will be nice temperature to put the new boat on the river!

Yes, we also fish. We use to do a lot of fishing on the Colorado River and lake Havasu years ago then switched to hardcore ocean fishing, seldom fishing the fresh water scene but now that we have a place here on the Colorado River again and my back won't allow for hardcore ocean action we will be coming back to fishing the river and lake again. I just got an appropriate boat for the river last weekend and this weekend will be our shakedown runs, fishing is close behind!

1st time on a boat and the girls did great, they wandered around checking everything out, we went to a couple beaches and Zoey swam while Abby waded lol.
Two pretty pooped pups, they didn't get their naps today.

DEF Arizona. I visited AZ in February one year. When We were getting outside of Abq. They closed the interstate down because of the snow. That whole week in AZ every day i thought i was gonna freakin die from heat stroke. Was there for "Estrella War" in the SCA. Also I live @ 7k above sea level at the base of Sandia peak which is like 11k i think. And in Az i'm not sure the elevation around the phoenix area? I'm basically a 10-15min drive from Sandia Ski Resort.

In October we are going back for almost two weeks, girls will get to swim almost every day.
October is the best weather up there, days are mid to upper 90's with very low humidity, nights are comfy at upper 60's to mid 70's water is still warm enough to swim and crowds are down.

Great pics and nice boat. My DH and oldest daughter like to fish. Me? I grew up on the Mississippi and all I know how to fish for are catfish, but I haven't fished for years. They fish for bass, walleye, pike, etc. DH is afraid of catfish and I have to take them off the hook so he doesn't shake them to death. Lol. It's pretty funny.
