Please evaluate this dog

Hello everyone!

I need help with evaluating this puppy. She is 9.5 week old Presa:


Below are pictures first of the mother and the then of the father. Both are champion dogs:



The father is leaner. I want a puppy that is more muscular like the mother. I wanted to ask firstly what is the quality of the puppy and secondly can you tell me if the puppy more like the mother in constitution or the father?

I would highly appreciate any help in this regard. Thank you very much !

Welcome, it's hard to tell from pictures, but what you mean by "the quality of the pup"?. Both parents seem to be from the same line, their difference it's probably not genetic(i don't know a more accurated word) so i guess with good food and enough exercice the pup would get the body you want.

You should be more interested in the temperament than looks.

I was actually just about to comment that I never knew Presa's were so short. They look about the same height as my APBT and she is about 20-22 inches to the shoulder.

Show line dogos are bred like that, much heavier and closer to the ground than regular presas, FCI/AKC not just allow but encorage it.

looks like mom's build to me at the abdomen. dad is much leaner. if planning to show, looks like white patch is missing at chest. looks more like brown. black mask looks high also, can't really tell by pics. don't know how strict rules may be but awesome pup.

We know the keeper of nina...we got our pup from Tom. So far so good. He puts out alot of pups BUT seems to have a good breeding program

I do intend to show the dog. The puppy does have a white patch.

Can you please elaborate on what you are implying by "black mask looks high also"?

The black mask should not go higher than te eyes, for FCI/AKC standards that's a severe fault, i think it's even disqualifier. Funtion and temperament should be the biggest concerns, and you should get familiar with the standard before getting your pup, especially if you intend to show. There are like five different standards depending on the breeder and what you want your puppy for, wich one you should chose. On my opinion Presas should not be breed as show dogs, but well maybe that's what they are call Dogos then.
