SO I have bad news, Tammy's mother can not fly due to her medical condition.

I then told her that if she wanted to fly an old friend, family member she could do that.

Then she asked if we should give the money back, UM NO!!!

I told her this was a gift to put a smile on her face and she could spend it any way that she wanted. And of course the sweetheart asked if she and Mike could go away for the weekend would that be acceptable way to use the money. So AGAIN I told her it is a gift and to use it as she sees fit.

Thank everyone for offering more money I truly thank you all.

Absolutely, she should give herself as many little side trips and pleasurable escapades as possible. I also advocate massage and acupuncture, and depending on health coverage perhaps this could be used for that purpose. Oh, and a holistic/naturopath physician would be a good idea. My sister-in-law used both modalities, and her oncologist was fine working with her naturopath. She had a much better outcome because they dealt with her whole person and spirit not just the cancer.

The only stipulation I'd say is that she MUST do something to take care of herself, love herself, something that makes her life easier, or something that brings a smile to her face or something that reminds her that she is cherished!
