Problem?

I have a question about my puppy's leg. His right leg seems to bow in at the joint just above his paw. It looks like he's walking on front of his feet instead of the whole paw, Is this normal?

How old is he? I have seen puppies with legs that are a bit goofy like that and they grew out of it but I hope someone else chimes in with more info.

He had his 8 week check up. The vet said he looked good, but we didn't notice him walking like that at the time. We are taking him in tomorrow to have it looked at. This is our first english mastiff. We just wanted to ask someone who has had experience with this breed of dog.

I know my guy had a bit of a weird angle on one of his front legs and it straightened out by about 12 weeks. Now I am not saying that thats the same as your case, I dont know, the vet is the one to make that call but in my case he had it and he straightened out and is fantastic now at 9 months

I would contact an Ortho vet and make an appointment just to be sure. If there is a problem and it goes untreated it could be with him for life. Better safe than sorry!

hi your pup is showing whats called knuckleing over its commonly seen in giant breeds with massive soft bone tissue and fast growth rates , you pups nutrition is probably unbalanced for your pups growth needs more commonally seen in danes best info on reasons and solving of the problem is on this link www.greatdanelady.com. its easily corrected if caught in time .

I agree...Some bloodlines can not handle rich dog foods....Your dog food is making him grow to fast....try something with less protein : )

Protein isn't the issue calcium is. The food is fine. The Great Dane lady is very controversial in the world of giant dog nutrition.
