You want aggressive find ya a moccasin. Crock hunter said the only snack in the world he was affraid of was a water moccasin. If they even see you, they may just chase you. Mean little buggers and they only travel so far from home. So you see one, your in his house

I grew up around them down here in the swamp. Rattlers and all that. Use to catch them as a kid. I was bit multiple times and dont play with snakes no more. Had one wrap around my leg and bite me multiple times as it climbed up me. They say it must have just ate cause it had no venom. I will take a gator over a snake anyday.

Dealt with both...Born in Florida...grew up in California....back to Florida for another 12 years....scariest thing I've ever seen was a moc making a beeline for my rotti who was in the water....I'd rather deal with a gator too :)

Yea mosskins will chase your ass for sure. They are thick around here as well as copperheads and western diamondbacks. A mojave will chase you as well, I ran one over once and by the time I stopped that lil bastard was at my truck biting the damn tire, as soon as it seen me it decided I was the one it should chase, all this while pretty much the center section of its body shredded in half from 12inch wide offroad tires...

Not as rare as you think. I saw 6 in 1 year alone. 2 last summer.

I was looking at the link, not sure but looks like the one that nailed my buddy might have been a type b, we were in southeastern Arizona and in that area they were fairly rare.

We had a moccasin that would come out the woods in front of a 60in mower and into his pond every week. He was not scared of the mower at all. One week he came out and actualy went right at the mower and bit the deck. It had to have broke it's fangs. I was trimming back the scrub on a lake bank with a chainsaw one time. The grass was super thick. I stepped right over a big moccasin. One leg on each side. I never even seen him. He slowly got in the water, 1ft away from where we was, and turned around and just stared at me. I swear, that bastard told me "I'm letting you live, just want you to know" Needless to say I got my ass out that grass and let my helper finish up. AHAHAHAHA. The pond with the moccasin also had a gator. He would stalk me the whole time. That jerk wanted to eat me so bad. Just swim 3ft off the shore while I weedeated. Then we would go under. I'm no fool. When they go under you better get off that shore. ahaha

First site great Mike....but, you could have warned us about the sound effects!!!! I know a rattler when I hear one, and my brain didn't catch up with my heartbeat fast enough...Yikes!!!

Didn't know it had sounds. I run my PC with FireFox and all active scripting turned off. LOL but that is sort of funny. When I was young I used to be able to mimic a RS sound with my mouth to perfection. One day I went fishing with my mom's boyfriend down in a creek area behind out Damn. This area was known to have lots of snakes. Well I waited until he was one leg over a fallen tree and let the sound loose. It was the best feeling ever to see him wet his pants. I laughed so hard I blacked out.

Spiders are not so bad, hate tarantulas but the worst thing ever is a Solpugid. I submitted this pic to a bug site years ago and now it is used all over to identify the bug.

We had to have exterminators come out because we had so many in and around our house. Shit now I will have nightmares again.

Wasn't the whole point of this thread to allay jcook's fears?
