This is our nine month old cane corso. We are new to this breed so we are wondering if he is going to stay tall and lean like this or fill out like we've seen in so many other cane corso photos. He does eat like a horse and we feed him very good food. He's between 8 and 9 months in these photos and just weighed in at 103lbs on his 9 month birthday. His parents were fairly large. So, any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks. We are also new to this forum so if this isn't the place to ask this, we apologize!!

He is gorgeous!

Not that familiar with CCs but have had big dogs most of my life...at nine months, they are still very much puppies both physically and mentally. With Rottweilers, which I am most familiar with, they hit their adult body and brain at about two years old, or a bit older. I now have an EM pup and from what I understand, anywhere from 3-5 years is when they really become mature.

He looks good. Take care of him and let genetics do the rest. He was predisposed to look the way he is going to look before he was born.

We have one that is tall and lean, we have one that is shorter and wider, more plump, but she has Addison's and is on a daily steroid pill, and has less energy so no matter how much we cut her food down it is hard to keep her weight down.

All mastiff breeds don't fill out completely until 2 to 3 years. He is handsome and on his way to easily top 125lbs.
