Should I ask?

Our puppy was born April 5th :)... We saw a picture and picked her on the 9th. I haven't seen any more pictures and am wondering if it's rude to ask? I know they are busy I'm just a new EM mommy and want to see :). What is typical?

When you were talking to the breeder before the birth. Did it ever come up how often they would update you? I know some breeder's spell it out to their buyer's. Pictures once a week and a video at 3 weeks ect...Some post daily to their Facebook page.

Either way, I don't think once a week is asking too much as a consumer. If it were me I would be touching base every 3 or 4 days just to see how my puppy was doing. It is not like they are giving you the puppy for free.

BTW, how far away are you from the breeder? We went to visit Cane at about 6 weeks just to see him and start the bonding process. We picked him up at 9 weeks.

I can't find it, but there was recently a thread on here from someone who had a nightmare of a time with a "breeder" who they had a deposit with who began avoiding them, and it all just went to hell in the story thereafter. I don't think it's asking too much for a picture or update, especially if that is what you're to expect from what they said. If you do have a deposit down I would absolutely nag for timely updates.

That said--how exciting!

We were the same way, so ansy about seeing a new picture. It seems like Karol updated the pictures every week for a while and then started updating them every 10 days or so towards the end of our wait. 1 thing I noticed was that she always did it late at night on Sundays.
