holy crap! in those first pics I would have sworn it was just an awkward looking 6-8 month old puppy..... well the last pic is much better and the problems are still pretty much the same but at a much lesser degree. the top line looks much better
Chuck, any dog can have a V lip even if the breed as a whole is not supposed to that's why its called a fault/flaw etc. lets use a basset hound as an example...basset hound have long, low set ears, right? well lets say we saw one with a higher earset... out of standard, right? well we wouldnt say that that dog is mixed bred rest of it was a straight up basset hound. now lets say that same basset hound was otherwise awesome and the ears were the only thing that was wrong with it...should it be bred? sure as long as you got the right bitch.. now what if that same basset hound had high ear set, long fur, a cork screw tail but had an otherwise great low long body... should that dog be bred? HELL NO! is it because of the faults of bad breeding or is it because of mixed breeding? it is obvious mixed breeding at that point. What Im trying to say is that finding one or two right things doesnt make it a purebred dog just like finding 1 or 2 wrong things dont make it a mutt either... ofcourse it all depends on the severity ie; the dog has GSD ears or a st bernard tail, lol. it is always cumulative.
This is the main issue we have with the Fila Brasileiro here... yea his head looks like a lab, has high ears, round eyes, tight muzzle and a bushy tail but he acts like a fila and he has papers of a fila so it must be a fila.... no! at this point you have a mutt that may or may not be part fila.
