Due to recent events I do have to wonder. I mentioned before that I am OCD yet I have a German Mastiff and looking to add another to my family. I alternate between vacuuming and swiffering everyday. I also mop the floors at least once a week, sometimes twice a week depending on how "bad" the floor is. I wipe the walls, appliances, doors, and anything else tagged daily. What's everyone else's cleaning schedules like.

Cleaning? Is that like a french word or something? How's that pronounced??

I am and it drives my wife a little crazy..vacuum at least 3 times a week try and sweep every night no dishes in sink EVER and deep house cleaning once a week that's top to bottom scrubbing it would happen regardless if the dogs were here or not though lol

I dislike very much how much dog hair is hiding in every crevice and corner of the house.. when I sweep it all just magically comes up into a pile. When I vacuum, most of the "junk" that is in the little filter tube is indeed dog hair. Even when I do laundry and clean out the lint trap..... what do you know? more dog hair. ;) so I may have a bit of an obsession with cleaning dog hair up. I wear all black for one of my jobs.. and every time I go in you can see clearly that I come from a home of dogs. I wouldn't have it any other way though. honestly. :)

After asking my wife what that word meant I was told she cleans the floor every day. As much as I protest it, when she's in front of the TV, she still does it.
(I do 90% of the cooking)

yeah my wife helps with the cleaning but does the laundry and that's a pretty regular thing and we normally cook together I hate seeing dog hair rubs my fur the wrong way that's what normally sets me on a cleaning rampage

Tiger I'm the same way I can't stand dishes in the sink I also clean the counters. Kelly it is a losing battle but I'm not giving up on the war just yet. Hedgehog I know what you mean about the dog hairs, especially when they poke you in your sleep. Little suckers hurt! I wouldn't have it any other way either Thor brings too much joy into my life. :)

I use to be very OCD, so bad I would re-load the dishwasher, re-stack the dishes, re-organize the silverware drawer, even balance my eggs in the egg carton... but I've lost too many people and pets too young that I'd rather spend time with them dirtying the dishes and getting drool on my work clothes then miss the time spent with them... don't get me wrong, dishes & laundry & floor get done, but chores will always be there, my pets & people wont... (mil just lost her 16 yr old cat today)

I used to be very anal about a clean house. Since having Titan for about 2 months this time (I had him for 6 months last year while my son was deployed)..well...that has changed. I still vacuum every other day, mop once a week and dust every other day. I wash walls, tables, stove, refrigerator and doors on a daily basis. I have to admit that since he started the RAW diet, his slobbering has slowed down a bit. He has his own love seat which I put a sheet on it, this I wash every couple of days. I clean his kennel once a week.

After it's all said and done, Titan is so worth the cleaning I have to do on a daily basis. :p

I keep yelling at these dogs to pick up their coat, but it must be too much trouble for them, so I do it once a week or so. It gets pretty bad but my schedule just won't allow more than that. I wouldn't care at all, since they're only downstairs most of the time, but I think it can't be good for them to breathe all the dust, dander, dirt & fur. Dishes are never left in the sink; food is never left out; counters cleaned constantly. I can't stand a dirty microwave so that gets done every other day or so. The windows are high so they only get dusty, not slobbery, so I don't care if they're dirty. However there's always slobber marks on the cupboards, walls & front of the stove. If I notice them & I have time I get them. Our house is far from spotless, but the humans, cats & dogs are very happy.

LOL.... I am with you!!! Though I do to be all or nothing so can either make a new dog from the amount of hair on the stairs or I am on my hands and knees scrubbing floors. Depends on if the inner sloth or the inner guilt is winning out that week :lolbangtable:

Hmmm 6 dogs, 2 cats, 2 kids... nope clean is not a word in my vocabulary at the moment :) The house gets swept nightly to take the bulk of the hair up and once a week we vacuum and I "try" once a week to get the floors mopped but if it is mud season here I don't bother :) If my house isn't perfect it is because I am spending my free time with my kids and dogs :)

I'm more inclined to believe it's a translation off a cave wall in anciant egypt. I've never heard such hog wash. I'll have to change the wifes oil and spill some on the floor to get this off me

Sunday is clean day, I do a top to bottom and that's the only time I am willing to waste.... LOL Although I did it last night. I have to say thank dog for Mr. Clean magic erasers for getting slobber off the walls.... I may sweep if the hair is getting bad during the week but that's it, there is more to life.... I used to be OCD but I adopted a mastiff....
