Tell me about your hair brush

Well not yours but the one you use on your mastiff. For Damon we used a thing I think for horses originally that's kind of a saw blade that's looped over in half and the ends plastic dipped. It worked well with his hair and supposedly removed the dieing hair aswell.
Thanks

Well, what I use on Apollo won't help you lol, on Arty I find a Kong Zoom Groom works well. I vaugely recall other folks mentioning that the rubber grooming gloves worked well on their mastiffs.

I currently have a large soft bristle brush. It didn't work when he blew his puppy coat at the same time the weather got cold but he loves it so it works as a training brush until I can find something that will actually work.

I use the Furgopet and it is PERFECT for an EM. I have cut back the shedding at least 90% AND Rugers loves it!! I do it at least once a week and I no longer have dog hair all over my hard wood floors. When I am done, he looks fantastic.

Ruger was somewhere between 6 - 7months...What a mess!

Yep. You'll definitely notice an influx of shedding right around that time. Think Duchess is blowing hers right now. Doesn't help that we are still getting 80 degree weather right now so the dogs aren't holding onto their coats like they should. Honestly I don't really brush Duchess. But I do have this mitt thing I run over her sometimes & pulls the dead hair off.

We use the same horse shedding blade tool - and we love it. The cat adores it, too.

We also have a fine wire brush that the cat loves. But Denna thinks that one's a torture device (similar to a vacuum or hair dryer). LOL.

Maybe ill hold of a bit then and see how well it works on Knox if you say that it works well for you.
Thanks

We have used the "Sheddin' Blade" on our Mastiffs forever. We found that they make one style where the tips of the teeth are rounded, and one where the tips are more pointy. The rounded tooth style works as well or better than the pointy style, AND it works really well for getting hair off of bedspreads & furniture, whereas the pointy style would typically snag on fabric. We use the Sheddin' blade both in its looped configuration, and also "unfolded" in its straight configuration (covers more area) We also have a very fine tooth single-row wire brush (Similar to the Furgopet mentioned above) that does a good job of pulling out the undercoat.

Luna is shedding her puppy coat now and omg the hair is everywhere!! I use the FURminator and she likes it. It does a great job but I ve had to brush her every day this week! If I dont then when you pet her she leaves hair balls on the floor!!!

We also use a shedding blade every now and then. Cruiser goes to daycare at a pet resort, they brush him after each play session.Yes it is Lazy, but is nice and I feel lucky to have them. Cruiser is their only mastiff pup and they are weighing him weekly to watch his growth rate. He has four female staff members tied around his big ole paw, kissses everyone and pushes them to pet & brush him. They have bets going on his weekly weight gain. It's a pretty fun atmosphere.

I bought the FURminator brush at petsmart and it works like a charm! It has cut the hair in the house in half. I also started the FURminator treatment at petsmart three months ago and he has completly stoped shedding.
