terrorizes my wife

Our mastiff always terrorizes my when she walks through the house and as well as when she sits on the couch! I know he is only 6 months and still a puppy, but is that normal? I mean she can't even sit down and watch TV! Actually, its quite amusing!!

I would say that, yes, it's normal for a puppy (or any dog really) to be excited to see a member of his pack. However it's up to YOU and your wife to show him what his boundaries are. It may be cute and funny to have a puppy jumping all over you, but it's certainly not going to be very fun when he weighs 100+ pounds.

I suggest you do some research and learn how to teach your dog to greet people politely :)

What do you mean by "terrorizing"? Trying to play, or being aggressive, or just being underfoot? At first I thought it might mean the pup was trying to bite or something, but you say ti's "amusing" so it makes me think maybe the pup is just being clingy. I know our Bullmastiff shows more outward affection to me (as opposed to my husband), and she's always shoved her head under our hands to get attention, but you'd be hard-pressed to call it anything more than normal doggy emotions. If he's just all jumpy and trying to play, definitely establish boundaries of polite behavior, but he IS a puppy and needs an outlet for his energy and lots of play and social time with his pack.

Deffinatly puppy.. My cane corso is 8 mths and still is under foot and jumpy...i got her a cong, and we learned how to play fetch. We do this every morning so get the excitement out of her.. But remember when he's returning it to you, don't wrestle for the toy.. He will adventually set it down... Good luck
