do u have oic of these true old English mastiff champions from the good old days(black n white 50s-80s cus i ould like to c these true EM in both usa u european r others ?
i though with standards u r suppose to know what a EM should clearly like look if they contuine with the wrinkles then u have a even heavier neo lol r EM breeders will be set so much with wrinkles them at some point they will start crossing neo's with EM just for the wrinkles r is this just just my worse nightmare lol:scared2:
Sounds like your wanting the EM to look like a CC, tight skinned and that's not how they should look.
There are also Neo's with little "type".. and the people who breed them fuss over this also.
well thats y your here to tell me lol as i said i know nothing about EM n may have been wrong on skin type of EM but i would like to c a EM n not a NEO n that maybe where the fight is lol
hmm i just maybe wrong but that y i like to learn but i just cant help worrying about the issues that can with HUGE SIZE this whole thing started because of health issue so i didnt mean to afend the breed its just me lol im just not used to the size factor
None of the EM's posted in this thread that I saw come close to looking like a Neo, they have pretty major differences in many areas. They are both giant breed dogs but comparing the amount of type (wrinkles) between the two is apples & oranges.
A "huge dog" doesn't equate to health issues in either of the two, poor breeding habits & poor genetic make up.. equates to health issues. A big problem with Neo's is the shorter snout then the addition of the heavily type'd lines.. which creates breathing issues (same deal with the English bulldog). That's not as common with the EM's due to the longer snout.
No offense taking, we all started new at some point.. the only way to learn is to ask & study. Ready to add a EM to your line up? I've got a little girl I'll give you ?!?!:scared2just kidding)..
I have a couple Rockport girls, they pull us around and love walks. I have asked many breeders directly about MY girls and have gotten very nice comments. My girls have been health tested, and overall I am very happy
For the record Dave is the breeder I got my dog through and his girls are big but they aren't overweight in my opinion and move very well. Over all they are great looking dogs, hence why I chose Dave and was happy when he decided to sell to me. And Dave did get all the health testing done on the puppies he sold and notified me of all the results which was great, no surprises. After all said and done I couldnt be happier with Mufasa. I guess my point is that as someone else said, how you care for the dogs after you get them has a TON to do with they way they turn out, not just genetics. Daves girls could have turned into the same style as those on the Rockport site but instead turned out more like what many of us consider ideal looking because he was self aware enough to feed the dogs properly and exercise them consistently
