Okay, so I get sort of bothered when people say they have a pure breed Cane Corso (or whatever breed) and it looks NOTHING like that breed.

I joined instagram recently (I didnt want to keep boring FB people with pictures of Stella ha). And if you dont know how instagram works what you do is upload and picture and in your caption you can hashtag certain words or phrases. for example i put up a picture of Stella hiking and I write; i love #hiking with my #canecorso #missiontrails #santee. so anybody can search hastags and see all the pictures that have been posted with that hashtag. So I often browse cane corso and mastiff related hashtags. and what i often see is pictures of cane corsi that looking nothing like a CC!

let me just show you some I found today.

photo-2.jpg Cane corso? really???

photo.jpg Okay, so the ears are cropped, still doesnt make it a CC. In all honesty, this one looks like it could possibly be a CC. But I saw other pictures of it and I really think it is a mix.

photo-1.jpgNice Pit.

photo-4.jpg doesnt look like a pure bred CC to me, but it possibly could be one. I think rottie X CC.

photo-3.jpg This one I just curious as what you guys think. One thing i noticed that is people will have CC X neo and go on about how huge their CC is compared to everyone else's. But I cant tell if this is one is CC X bull mastiff or CC X neo, or what.

I really dont care if someone has a pure bred dog or if it is a mix and I am aware that not all pure breds match the standard. I would just think that if someone believed they had a pure bred CC and then they looked at pictures of what a CC typically looks like, then they might realize their dog doesnt look like that? Maybe I sound bitchy but id say about half (if not more) of the CC's on instagram look nothing like a CC, and it just irks me for some reason. hopefully I am not alone on this lol.

LOL! I would say get used to people calling a lot of things under the sun a Cane Corso :( It is sad but it is a fact of life and will continue to happen. The dog in the second set of pictures looks familiar though I can't place him/her.

Sometimes people just know what they are told, and so they go with it. I got my cc pup from a rescue...no papers, no clue regarding parents, etc. I personally have spent a lot of time looking at the corsi on here and other places and I truly believe she is a corso, and if I can ever get her to hold still I plan on posting pics to ask opinions. I guess what I'm saying is that maybe that was just what they were told, and haven't bothered to do any research to see? Food for thought.....

Don't worry! You may want to know that people write so many things on instagram just to get as many likes as possible !!! Do not let them bother you :)

I think some of that may just be the nature of #hashtags. People may know they have a mix, but want a reasonably close searchable #hashtag. What has been really bothering me is people that I run into that also own a cAne Corso. I would think if they own one they would figure out proper pronunciation. I have actually started correcting people. Some of them have been appreciative, others must think I am a prick.

It doesn't truly upset me. Like I would never comment on a strangers photo and tell them I don't think their dog is a CC. I would ONLY do that if someone asked my opinion. And I also understand that people may not know what their dog is and are going off what they are told. But at that point why not just say you arnt 100% sure what it is?

I don't really like when people give false info. If I was new to corsi and was looking at them on Instagram I would think they vary immensely. Also, say the dog has a certain temperament or health issue and the dog is filed as a CC, but it isn't, don't you think that can be a issue? Example, a "CC" attacks a person, it gets
Filed accordingly, now the CC has a bad mark on its name when in fact the dog was not a CC. It could work the other way too, someone could meet a persons super friendly "CC" and think that is the next dog they want, they get a true CC and they can't handle the dog because it isn't a lab.

I'm just saying that for dogs like in the first picture, I think it's odd that the person won't just say that they arnt sure what the breed is. And it's sad because that girl in the comments said she was given the dog By a coworker who told her it was a CC. It just reminds me of people who over exaggerate their dogs weight.

People ask about Stella a lot, and I will tell them that she may not be like another CC. Her temperament is a little soft and that they should take that into consideration.
