  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Time for Westminster!!!

I've spoken with them a few times, If I can work it out that's where my next fella will be from.

I cant remember how old he was but that picture of him was from 2007. So he's got to be getting up there in age.

She is a very nice breeder. Albert is getting up there and he is too old for AI. He was actually one of the males we were looking to use in our program. He is still producing litters but only through natural breeding. Her boy Fantom is her up and coming boy, http://www.mastiff.cz/fantom_2.htm and Dok is the son of Albert, http://www.mastiff.cz/dok2.htm.

Happened upon a replay of last year's show and caught the working group part. I've got to say, I was a little dissapointed with the mastiff that had won best of breed. No disrespect to the breeder, but I just didn't think he looked that impressive. He seemed short and a little chubby. Suprised he was the "best" representation of the breed last year.

Well said!!
for the most part I think it is the way the view animals over there. I prefer the Danes from Europe for instance, they have more mass and substance and would be what I would expect a mastiff should have but when you get over here to see teh wirey, lean Danes that don't impress me. I think a lot of there are still bred for a purpose, that they aren't always viewed as fur children and the weak don't survive and don't get bred, I know from talking to several breeders over there they do cull and have no issues with doing so but here it is severely frowned on.

I am not sure if that makes sense or not or if I am making a mess out of the explanation.

a "little chubby" has been a complaint of mine for a few years. At least the TM judges haven't been picking the chubby ones, but geeze folks, run your dogs around a little or something!

I'm cool with a big thick dog, if that thickness looks like muscle, rather than a little blubber.

OH yah, but when a TM looks outright FAT with no waist, sorry, thats not muscle!

Or was there only one gold TM by any chance? I know there were several black and tans, and at least one gold, but there's a couple I don't know the color of....
