Hey guys, new to the forum. I've posted two separate questions and someone suggested I ask a more general question so I can get more help.

So any tips on feeding "how much and what at which age"
Training advice
Bone ect
Preventing any common health issues to the best of my ability.

Anything you can tell me about raising my neo pup. I've read but owners exp it's what I wanna know.

Picking him up in 1 day :) super excited. 8 weeks

Kirkland @ costco - as for feeding times he has it all written down for me with the pup.

I'd like to know what a lot of you did for your pup. What ratios of kibble to other ingredients.

I'd like to be able to give him a chunk of meat now and again. I've read on the BARF diet, also read to mix some pasta in with his kibble.

I'm unsure of how much to give him. I wanna ensure his health and longevity the best I can.

Training - I've read so many things, I've had quite a few bigger dogs in my life staffy, American bulls. Never one of this size. Is there anythin specific training wise or do you approach training all dogs roughly the same way. *given I understand I'll have to do more socializing and things of thats nature. But anything in particular that would help me in the training of my "little" guy :)

Thank you for taking the time to read and help. I'm very proud to own such a beautiful animal.

Look up marker training or clicker training on youtube. There are tons of videos. I would first train the puppy to respond to their name. After that I would train basic obedience and work extra hard on recall. Remember to make it fun every time for both of you. Also if you like you can put a light lead for him to drag around the house. It is called a drag leash. This will give you more control of the puppy and allow him to get used to the leash. I would also crate train him as soon as possible. You can look up crate games on youtube to get an idea. I would also start body handling exercises where you handle him in different areas of the body to get him used to touch, especially the ears, mouth, and toes (clipping toenails). All this can be done rewardingly with marker training.

We worked with our girl at home on obedience, but at 4 months put her in an official obedience class. She's very single minded and STUBBORN. So, the class has helped a great deal. I fed her 3x a day until she really just stopped eating her midday, then went to twice a day. Worked well. She gains about .6#/day. Crazy. Only other thing I can say is socialize, socialize, socialize.... I'm excited for you. I already want another one!

I have and plan on clicker training him. I work from home so I have all the time in the world to train him.

Other people have suggested crate training him. I personally have never crate trained. I've new had any issues with past puppies behaving badly. Is the crate a training aid or is it for the neo to have his "own" space.

The crate is the pup's own space to sleep or just hang out. It's also used to keep them secure and safe when you are not at home.

Picking him up in a few hours. ☺️☺️☺️ So I have the food and I'm ready. Jus counting the minutes as they slowly slowly pass by. :/

Crate training is a GOOD thing. Also helps with house training. Our girl is almost 5 months old and has access to her crate all the time. I often find her curled up asleep in there when she wants to get away from it all. We we go out or to work, she goes right in, no issues at all. It's her safe place. Be sure and post pictures of your little one. I'm so jealous!!!

So after a very long day my little monster is home with me. He is amazing, I'm sure every new owner say things like this. His temperament is happy, calm and very relaxed. He is a lover and has become my shadow already. I'll get some pics up hopefully later tonight. He is everything I wanted and more.

Crate training is really important for these big dawgs. They eat everything when they get bored and they get bored whenever they can't see you. MHO!

Thank you. He is so good. Let's me know when he has to goto the bathroom. Making my job easier. I have had all sorts of dogs but I can already see he might prove a challenge training. I'm up for the task. I work from home so me and my little man are going to get a lot of time in.

Mastiffs are very stubborn and very independent.
