So I loaded my mastiffs pack in the car and here we go:

thank you - yes, it's a beautiful area and ... empty. :) I don't usually let them roam like this but I decided we all needed some freedom for few hours lol - to my surprise, they've been really really good. The two water babies even managed to get Sophia in the water (she absolutely HATES water).

You know, whenever I take Mateo out on a "road trip" (and yes, he knows those words and goes beserk when I say them), I am reminded why I love, love, love having a dog in my life.... Sharing moments like these.

Beautiful. :)

yeah, poor Jacko will be our small & cute purse pooch lol. At 6 months, the girls still have a lot of growing to do.Now I have some pain with the permit but I hope it's gonna be fine. I'm in the urban area so I need a permit for the third dog - it was obviously hard to say which one is the 3rd dog... I guess it's poor Sophia. Jack was the first one in our home, Luna has been chosen first, so the 3rd one is my chubby teddy bear, Sophia. Ironically, she's the kindest and softest of them all. And it's her I need a permit for.

And that damn permit would not be an issue if I didn't have a woman in the street that can't stand big dogs. The one that has got a phobia - I've been writing about it lately... the one that said jack is gonna eat me lol and I should have small dogs (like her!).I talked to the ranger and let him know how we stand from neighbours pov (most of them very supportive, as my dogs really are really controlled). I'll see how i can get the permit against the person't phobia. She doesn't have a factual concern, it's just that she doesn't "want big dogs in town". Oh well. She doesn't even know which one is Sophy. And no one would ever ask her about the other 2. But if she can do anything to get rid of my 3rd dog from the neighborhood, she will. If I have to move to the (more) rural area, i'll do then. I won't give up my poor baby.

Great pics as usual, Teodora
The permit issue is always a PITA. Just for my information (I was involved in some Portuguese legislation on animal keeping - not dogs), how does it work? Is it merely a beaurocratic procedure or is it a formal authorization? Third parties (like neighbours and such) have a say ?

Joao - I don't know how it works as I didn't have one before (it's not mandatory for young puppies) but in my understanding the council will check that there are no registered complaints about the dogs/owner, get written agreements from persons living in the rest of the properties in that area, make an inspection of the yard/house to see if fit for the dogs/breed... Check the documents - registrations/shots, tags, neutered or not, plans to breed etc. These should be the main steps, I don't know if I missed anything. I don't plan to breed them at all, they're in good shape and indoor dogs - so they have the same living conditions we have. All docs in order, and I am not aware of any formal complaints. So nope, it's not just a paper to pay for.Theoretically it's a good thing - many irresponsible byb out there, not that they request permit anyway - it's just that if anyone in the neighborhood has self esteem issues and wants to feel important and involved, then it gives them ammunition. Nothing wrong with being involved: something very wrong with being involved and not informed - or not interested to get information.I'm getting more and more annoyed by the way people - tb read "women" - put the kids in front of all their psychological issues. If anything, than "the big dogs in town are not safe for kids." So if anyone decides to get pregnant, we all should get immediately rid of our dogs - no matter how good or trained - as per this theory. There's a general hysterical wave from time to time with a pooch in the press - no one considers the thousands of dogs living peacefully in homes, though, because they're not so visible. That's exactly why getting a permit can be a pain. And we don't need a permit for 1 or 2 dogs - 1 or 2 can be aggressive as well, it doesn't take 3 dogs to bite. Nevertheless... we'll sort it out one way or another. If I have to relocate, than that's it.

Thanks for the clarification Teodora.
I understand that this can be a weapon in histerical hands. Hopefully will not be the case in your area and that lady that bothers you will stay out of the permit procedure.
