Overall, pretty good videos. Thank you for posting them.

Part 1 explaining aggression. Love the shopping trolly story...I would shoot them. hehehehehehe I like how you explain aggression in way that does not have a negative connotation. As soon as someone hears aggression, the pup automatically becomes a bad pup.

You talked about fear aggression as not liking someone or some dog in the dog's face. I believe fear aggression is a result of them receiving pain for a particular type of behavior and they become afraid of the person/dog/object that causes that pain. For example, a pup is owned by a person that hits them when they do not follow a command. This pup becomes fear aggressive towards that person and any person that looks like that person and will probably end up biting said person.

Part 2

I agree that a lot of trainers go directly to e collars to train a pup which in my opinion is not the correct way to train a pup because the use of the e collar has to be progressive and not used from day 1.

Part 3

Great info on managing the aggression when you do not have the time to work on the behavior which will help people who work and do not have time in the morning to train re: resource guarding.

Part 4

Classic Conditioning has great tips! I can attest that classic conditioning works because I do that with Titan when we are on our walks at the human park and there are dogs and people approaching us. He has improved greatly since doing this work and rarely lunges at another dog or person, meaning men. :( It's a work in progress.

Part 5

I do the operant counter conditioning without the clicker but I have trained Titan to look at me as I am standing in front of him when a pup/person approaches that I know he's going to lunge. I have learned his body language to know when he's going into the lunge mode and place him into sit with me standing in front of him and to look at me and then rewarding him. I've also taught him "leave it" which means ignore it. That works really well when I see the lunge mode about to happen and we continue walking.

Part 6

Desensitization is a great training tool which is the reason I take Titan around other people especially men at the park. He's improved greatly and he no longer goes into lunge mode when he spots them 100 feet away. They can now walk by us, with Titan on the side, about 10 feet away from us. Titan is ok with them as long as they do not talk to me but I'm working on that too.

I forgot to mention that I do not believe in behaviorists for training a pup. I believe a reputable dog trainer has to know the pup's behavior to train them.

x2 ^^^ 100% agree.

Thanks for sharing these videos! Very informative overview of dog aggression and how to efficiently deal with it. I share your sentiments on all points, and absolutely agree "train when you can, and manage when you can't".
